NY chicken lover!!!!

Morning everyone. I just spent the last half hour catching guineas. You would think that with them locked in the coop it would be easy. No such luck. They're fast, really fast. I finally managed to catch the 2 girls and band them. I felt like a wrestler trying to pin them to the ground. I'm glad that mess is over, at least until I decide what to do with the extra boys. Maybe dinner some day, who knows. I think the next time I get the bright idea to to that I'll go find a bear to wrestle instead.

This first creek pic was today. The 2nd one was a couple of months ago. If we don't start getting productive rain soon, the creek will be dry by the end of Aug. I've only seen it happen once in 10 years. I pump water out of here to water all the chickens.

Sally, I'm completely confused. I'm in the Fingerlakes area also (Canandaigua) so you can't be too far from me. We have more ground water than we know what to do with. I don't know of anyone's streams that aren't running well. Do you keep getting missed by the rain?

The creek by our house is low as well. We were getting rain day after day a couple of weeks ago but haven't gotten a full day of rain since. Even yesterday I thought it was going to last longer than it did but the storm the night before never came and the rain the next day last no longer than a half hour. Think it all depends on where you are. I know Breella mentioned Syracuse got a storm the other night, we're 15-20 mins south of Cuse and got nothing.

How old is she ? Do you have her on layer ?

I bought them on March 28th, I figure they were at most a week old when I got them so about 17 weeks. I figured when their comb and waddles started getting that big they are very close to POL. I am feeding agway Layer. I have a few others that are getting big comb and waddles, my red sex link has had red comb and waddles for over a month now!

Morning Everyone,
Went out to see Glasshen this morning for some Eprinex that she was so kind to let me share. My son helped me treat the silkies since they are easy to get a hold of. All the others were flocking around us looking for food. I planned on treating them at night after getting them in the coop but since they were right there we threw some feed in the grass so they'd be easy to get a hold of.

Well sweet story....while we were doing this the ducks were feasting as well. We finished up, I went inside and all of sudden I hear one of my ducks quacking loudly as if something were going on. I went out and looked and the other two were missing. (One of them being my drake) She came running about half way down the yard, ten turned around to go back with the chickens. Sqwaking away again she came back down into yard looking frantically for her drake. Now I was getting worried because there were no where in site in the yard. I was also wondering where they took so quickly in the 2 mins I stepped into the house. I finally looked to the far right of the yard where the duck pool is kept and I saw them swimming. They both made their way back to the middle of the property and I happened to catch it on video. Glad I did cuz it was cute!

Not sure how well you can see it, but they were like an old married couple who hasn't seen each other in weeks! Lol

Thanks again Glass for the Eprinex! So nice to finally meet you this morning!

Heaven forbid I get 30 seconds of peace and quiet while I try to capture a video of something! Lol there's always some sort of talk or arguing in the background! Lol

How long does it usually take for a hen to start laying again after she's done being broody or has hatched out chicks and is no longer raising them?

400

Enjoying some sun. Gonna move the coop and get it on fresh grass and weeds.

Lynzi nice vid

That's all my dog does too, IF someone is outside somewhere with him. Once we go in he's barking at the door to come in as well. He's such a baby, won't stay outside on his own.
