NY chicken lover!!!!

Morning Everyone! Well I now have two of ke5hde's frizzles, a black and a white. Here they are... This is Evanora: And this is Glinda: Absolutely LOVE how soft the frizzles are! The plan is to stick with these two and a trio of sikies. Eventually breed a silkie roo to a frizzle hen and see what these "sizzles" are all about. Here is a pic of one of the splash chicks ( going on 15wks now) and the blue chick (going on 12 wks)
:thumbsup

I'm moving more slowly lately and have been leaving cheep duty for DH. Our barn has cement floors so the temps down there aren't as bad as outside. The only standing out in the heat I have to do is waiting for the bus to drop off Fiona from school. Yesterday it came early and I was avoiding the heat as long as possible. I slipped in the mud in the front yard trying to get in sight so they would let her off and didn't make it. I had to tail the bus to a neighbors house to get her. Scared me, my house sets back off the road with trees blocking a lot of the view.

Well I went to Tully Hardware this afternoon for some of that weed netting that people use for their gardens. Figured I would try that and place some layers over the mud edges of my pond to keep the water coming thru. I got about half way around the pond and now it looks like we're about to get a storm.

Anyway, point of my story is, while I was at Tully Hardware I noticed they have the same shipping crates I was driving all the way to Camillus for! And they're selling them for only $10 each!!! I was paying $12 a piece and could only get them for $10 each in Camillus if I bought 5 or more. Well I can only fit 2 in my truck at a time. :-/ I am sooooo happy Tully has them! They said they have a lot too. Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone was looking to build something and needed some kind of structure started for them, like I do. I told them I'd be back this weekend. If like to get one or two more to turn into rabbit cages.

Here are some updated pics of my little BR mix chick

He/she is looking so cute I love the colors.

EEeeek I'm glad your okay I forgot that buses have to have someone waiting for the child. I've always used daycares and now my 10 year old walks to and from school. Well I'm glad it all turned out okay. At least the heat will break soon.
