NY chicken lover!!!!

LOL one of my little tiny bantam pullets from CB actually managed to hatch two tiny little chicks from pullet bantam eggs. The size of marbles! They are so tiny and cute - will have to get pics. We are retrofitting that coop today as its not built for chicks. There's no way for them to get in and out! I've pulled mama and babies into a cat carrier- she isn't happy, but the chicks are safe. :)

Congrats. We should have our last batch hatch today or tomorrow.

I thought I was going to be able to announce my newest hatch, but she decided to incubate a little longer. Thursday I had my appointment and was having regular contractions (3-4min apart) for 6hrs. Doc said I was gearing up to deliver that night and the contractions went to 2min for about an hour then spaced out then went irregular again. This little girl is messing with me. I've been up over night the past 2 nights with 5 min contractions for about 2 1/2 hrs each night then I'm able to drift back to sleep. I've been nauseous the past couple days. I'm hoping it ends soon because I'm getting pretty tired. My grandma hasn't been doing well either and I would like her to meet my little one before its too late.

Ginny-- We still haven't agreed on a name yet. My mom says she's waiting to come out because we haven't decided yet. I like Rowyn but Travis doesn't. He said if she is born with red hair he'll agree to it. Other names we have been thinking of are Isabelle, Nora, Lauren and Ella (compromises). I like names that aren't that common (he says rare (Lorna)) and he likes ones that are becoming popular (I think common (Sophia)). So we have been at a stand still for months.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Nutty-- Would you still want that BLRW roo?

Hey miquwid,

My Gertie sends her best regards to your recovering Brabanter. We're both happy she's doing better. Gertie says so herself, but it just sounds like "Guk-guk-guk." (This seems to be the extent of her talent for language.)

Happy Friday everyone.

How very pretty!

Finally killed this chicken killer. Took me a month to out smart him
I knew this was going to be your kill when the little thumbnail pic showed up on the side. It loosk very healthy. Ours look rough. Congrats!

Oh, I forgot. Edited - !WARNING! Showing very cute Silkie mix chicks pictures.

I had unexpected hatches a couple days ago. I don't think I'll ever use an incubator again unless I need large hatches. These little Silkie mixes are hatching machines, wanted or not. There are only 2 chicks but taking pic's of them is so much fun.

Welcome back Stony. I thought maybe one of your predators had gotten YOU.

That gray fox is just stunning and very healthy in appearance (except being dead, of course). Sad it had to go, but I understand your situation.

miquwid - you did a great job rehabbing that hurt Brabanter. Maybe she's not all that appreciative, but I give you a "

Sally - great pics of such absolutely adorable and lovely chicks. Nice photography!

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments on my Brabanter, Gertie. She's my special needs girl, with her partial blindness, but we do the best we can and she seems happy.

Just looked out the window and saw something moving at the edge of the tamed yard. Turned out to be a pair of pheasants. Very nice to see, but I hope they are healthy if they are going to be traipsing around here.

not too bad at all. It ate my best broody, the 6 year old Mama blue a month ago. This was personal. I killed that rat bugger and was instantly HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!. The only good predator is a dead one
