TAB - names - girls really like names that are unique but not wild ..... Rowyn is excellent - but almost all the girls are naming their baby girls Isabella right now.

I will not have kids - but if I had ever had a girl, she would have been named   Lorelei   ( sounds like Lorl - lie )

Isabella is from the vampire movies. Of course I think I came up with Abigail (Abby) from too many episodes of NCIS. But it fits her. We had 2 names picked out, the first choice being Taylor for a girl. As soon as I seen her I knew Abby was it.

Featherz and others on kids: That's nice - I always feel odd when people ask me about kids and just give me a puzzled or shocked look when I state I don't want them over can't have them - and since you are a ped doc .... that is proof that just because you don't have any means you hate kids. Like I was going to snatch them and cook them ! ha ha I do like kids, but just for a short time. And mostly they really dig me too, as I tease and have fun with them. But so many think I am missing something in my life. Nope.

So thank for sharing that you too are kidless but not a monster.

Tab: I wish more parents were like you - then more kids would be well taken care of - so my posts about no kids - is just showing it takes certain types for certain types of lives.

Lapeerian: Ah, right ! The vampire movies, I forgot the main girl is Isabella - that must be it - in Rutland here, I know three teen moms with Isabella's and it tops the name list for 2012 or 13 .... so too many of those - although I do like the name, it has to die down a little.

I've been sick for days, and today my regular cough became productive, already on antibiotics because they thought I had strep. On another note some of the girls got locked out of the coop until I got home from work yesterday. Poor girls were soaked when I got to them and I had to physically move them into the coop. This morning they were dry and hungry so I put out some extra treats for them.

I'm thinking of moving the other four chicks out to the coop. I think tomorrow is going to be filled with clearing out the other side of the coop shed so I can expand the living area for the chickens for the winter.

That is so true. I have family members that are too eager to pawn their children off on anyone who will take them for a few hours. No time spent as a family UNLESS it is for show. I will say and have, that there are days that I understand why some species eat their children at birth. lol (only kidding, only kidding!)

My grand daughters are going around telling everyone that when they get bigger they can go in the chicken coop and get eggs. My experience is that when they get old enough, they won't want to.

Morning all
On the kid thing, we only had 1 and didn't want anymore. Danielle had her tubes tied at 24 and it was probably the best thing. I don't really have the patience for anymore and she didn't want more. Gabby is my step daughter and I have raised her like my own since she was 2.
My sister has 5 kids and I go nuts when they come out for a visit. Our dogs are extremely kid friendly but even they can't deal with them after so long
Danielle is a teacher so she gets her fill of kids all day. We did our time(sounds like prison) and raised a wonderful daughter who adores children and has done excellent in school and sports and is now off to college.
For those of you with multiple children, I applaud you. I don't know how you do it. For those of you with no children, I applaud you too. There's far too many people with too many kids that they just can't take care of.

That being said, we had a silkie hatch this morning and hope for more before the end of the day

No kids here either, never wanted them for myself, nor does hubby. . And I work pediatrics!

Oh and I'm also 45 -- old enough to know I really mean it.

So don't feel too odd.

Okay so I'll say this publicly. My motto is , "not having kids does not make you a bad person, having kids you don't want does." I have a DD who says she doesn't want kids and I'm fine with it.

BTW, you owe no one but yourself an explanation.

Mothers of teenagers , know why animals eat their young.

I hate that my sister always complains about her kids. My nephew too, says negative things about his boys. Lord knows the world gives us enough grief without getting it from our parents too.
