NY chicken lover!!!!

Rancher , a week late, that's the story of my life. I might be able to let her have one of my BR who is on the timid side, but I have to think about it. She likes to be broody, and maybe next year it would work out for her.

Maybe that's what's he meant but said reservoir instead? I know he said reservoir because even mentioned the nearby reservoir...IDK, just weird. I've never had any problems of other dogs roaming around here. Other than the three legged lab from down the road, but he's harmless. Lol just likes to come mark scent and them takes off back down the road.

My girlies yesterday. They both wanted to hold the baby so I told them they both could and I took a picture. I need to get my DH another bat for his other hand. I got him one a couple years ago and labeled it daddy's big stick.

Cute kids. Expect Donovan a week from Friday. Spent the day with the queen yesterday. Made french toast together. She had hers with whip cream.

Well I've got the incu up and running. Not sure how many if any Del eggs will be good but I shall try. I also have to set up the brooder. The pool needs cleaning since they'll likely spend the winter in there.

After they move to the coop THEN I might have hens to swap out.

Just Dels this time, but I plan to order some CR's and BR's.

As an ex mail carrier, I've been bit twice neither was a Pit. I learned to never label dogs, just their owners.

My SIL had two white English bulls and they had heads the size of a Ford F150. Always scared the bejeezus out of me. Especially when they were under the table with their nose in my crotch. I never moved when they came near me.

I never liked them even though they were no harm.

This made me laugh, Rancher. Too funny!!

My canine boys do not bite, nor do they nip. They might kill you by licking you to death....or maybe shedding to the point of clogging up your respiratory track. Those are the risks they pose to the human race as pit-crosses.

Earlier today Coronation Sussex thought she could take on my younger pit, Merlin. She ran up to him with her chest puffed out. Merlin shook all over and I could see him thinking "I'd like to play with that feathery squeak toy." .... but he was a good boy and stayed at my side.

The more chickens I have the less I handle them all ...I still hold my favorites though .
these two are becoming a real pair ..rarely are they separate..
.Here they are playing house on my back deck in the middle of my drying beans

Skiddy (Left )says to her "Hey sweety lay your egg here ..this is a perfect spot ! "
They were out front on my step ..later ....I opened the door and set with them a bit & they both sat on my lap
I thought of old pictures of people on their front porch with a chicken on their laps ..LOL

They are very sweet!

Lynzi,

Maybe it's another slang term for feral dogs or for "coy-dogs", which my neighbor tells me are a coyote-dog hybrid supposedly running around. We have no problem here with coyotes, though I hear them frequently enough, and I've lived her for many years. But of course, there are those people that have had some run-in's with them. When you live in a rural area, sooner or later you will have some sort of encounter, whether that be a positive or negative one. I'm glad you didn't collide with that buck. I notice the deer are spastic lately -- I would imagine because of the start up of rutting season and bow hunting.

TAB,

Your girls are pinky-precious! Very sweet! I hope Cass is doing OK. It's been a while since she posted here. Also Java Girl.... ?

TOB - Maybe....I don't know. I even replied when he said it "Like the coyotes?" and his response was "Well those too but those reservoir dogs come around too" who knows. I've never heard of such a thing other than the movie.

We're getting a big rain storm here. Its kinda funny. Everyone was out running around in the yard and it started pouring. Well all the chickens are looking for cover while the ducks are fighting over an apple they found in the woods. Even though there are hundreds that have fallen, one still manages to find the perfect one that everyone wants and they all go chasing after it. Meanwhile, I'll be packing my bags because my DH is going to kill me when he finds out what I just did to the mower! Ugh, I had the bright idea of mowing/picking up leaves with it, well the cover to it was laying on the ground next to the shed and I thought it was in the clear but I went by it and that mower picked that thing up so fast I didn't have time to blink. It's now jammed in the blade. Maybe I can Caz Equipment tomorrow and get someone over before he even wakes up since he's closing tonight and have them fix it before he wakes. LOL

Tab, I have tried to send you a Private Message and both times did not go through.

Have you been able to receive PM? I am wondering if you would like 8 Rhode Island Reds
Hens 3 years old? These have been special pets to a disabled woman and she can
no longer care for them.

Please PM me. Thanks Aria
