NY chicken lover!!!!

I have never canned chicken before, but have heard it said that it is delish, as it cooks in the jar, making wonderful broth, ready to turn into chicken and biscuits in a short time...I am getting hungry for chicken and biscuits.

So I was looking at my facebook and came across this and wonder if anyone has ever tried it.

HARD BOILED EGGS DONE BY THE OVEN!!!! Check this out!! Instead of having the smell of boiled eggs in the house why not bake them?!! No smell, they peel pe...rfectly, and a lot easier!! Oh and for me in the Fall and Winter months it makes your house nice and warm with the oven on LOLOL. Try it out!! Bake them at 325 for 25-30 min, then once you remove from oven, put in a bowl of ice water to cool, and it will get them super easy to peel! If you want to keep this idea then share it and it will save on your timeline. Also awesome for Thanksgiving parties coming up if you plan to do any deviled egg dishes !:)

LYNZI - did you ever look up legbars? The lady at the chicken show has them, i believe it is the lady you got Gru from. They lay a nice blue egg as well. I think though she only has cream legbars but it might be worth asking about.

JLAW - my roo had rough time with my barred rock when we first got him. She would peck at him real hard pull a feather then a tail feather he would turn then she would run and start all over again. Now they are good it took a while, i was fuming when i was a tail feather go i had to walk away lol. That boiled egg i will try.

I just looked those up, the cream ones...not totally in the love with them but I may have to sacrifice if I really want a blue egg. I think it would be best for me to find a blue egg layer since I already have the light brown egg layers. This way I can eventually get the pale blue to green colored egg layers.

I always thought this was how they were made...

I hate google searched for chickens, it always shows you images of birds that NOT what you're looking for. Mainly because another breed was mentioned somehow with that picture but still....

Are there any Easter Eggers that are mainly white in coloring as far as feathering goes?
Ameraucanas come in pure white, they are the most common blue egg layers. EEs are a mix of Ameraucanas & another breed. So they are really mutts that usually lay a bluish green egg. If you want an olive egg, breed a Marans with an Ameraucana.

Lynzi-- The pic of your friend's EE looks a lot like the ones I had from crossing a Delaware and silver ameraucana. It would be easier to find some in spring when hatching picks up. I cleared out my extras for winter and maternity leave, but plan to hatch more in spring.

Thanks! I'd really like to find an adult hen if possible. Only because I'm looking for only one blue egg layer. And if I get a chick I should obviously raise it with another, and then part with one and well, you know how that story goes. Lol but I'm not in a rush, just what I want my addition to be.
