NY chicken lover!!!!

As much as I love the hoop coops, I need something more portable. If we ever have to move again-which could be next year again because talk about it started at my husbands job again, I need something I could lift and put in a truck and take with us. If and when we do buy or build our next house, I would definitely consider building a hoop coop! I like how roomy they look.

Yeah I can understand that. I still have that one coop in my drive way I don't even need someone to help carry at this point just need them to get it over the chainlink fence piece that is still up. Hopefully next year I can get the rest of my fence done and I won't have this problem but for now I need it for the dogs. Oh well!! I've given a few neighbors some eggs so hopefully I can sweet talk a bunch of strong guys to help me out.

I haven't been on the computer all week. And there are 265 posts. Sorry if I missed something but I'm not going to be able to catch up on them. Work and caring for house/family have kept me busy. Weekend mornings before everyone wakes up are my only quiet time. We're going to take the girls to see frozen later today. I'm looking forward to it. Fairy tales are nice escape from reality.

Does anyone know of someone with show quality BBS ameraucanas? I would like to get some hatching eggs for DH for Christmas if I can find some.

I took that while I was trying to get the blue pullet in. Again, not sure why but I've had to wait on her the past few nights. Maybe she's looking/waiting for the frizzle? So I wait and wait for her to get her butt in there. Decided to take a quick pic of the older girls while I waited on her.

Took pictures of the kids today for christmas cards that we send out every year...Thought it would be cute to incorporate a farm animal of some sort, but the pics weren't that great. I had the kids each hold a runner duck...





I wanted them to hold them at the same time and face each other with them but I was worried my daughter wasn't going to be able to hold hers long enough. I'm sure my ducks hate me now but owell. LOL They got treats after so hopefully that made up for it.

if you add more mash / scratch than water you will see a whole layer of the mash on top with more of the liquid on the bottom .
Which can just be scooped out . I go back & forth between the two .
This time of year I drain the FF so it doesnt freeze so easily...when it is warm I dont bother

She's bigger than all of them, even my roo. She'd take up a lot of room in that coop. She'll be fine I'm sure. Just needs to learn to make friends with the other hens.

My advice is to let them slowly get to know each other one at a time, that means one roo at a time. Good luck!

Why do your chickens Peck you ?

Oh some of them are just not friendly and that's fine just get in the coop and stop crowding my feet! My female leghorn will come out of no where and get ya.
