NY chicken lover!!!!

Yeah I was just looking at a face book page. The guy I bought my silkie eggs from has a farm page and I saw those on. Looks like some sorta messed up parrot lol.

Happy late new year TOB.

1. It's cold here but I'm more concerned about the inside temp. I keep it at 67 at least. This cold is making me sleepy. Slept til 9:30 am and had gone to bed at 9:00.

2. We once had a cat who would not stay in unless the temps dropped below freezing. Other wise he would ask to go out.

3. Went to see The Hobbit part two in 3-D. Not to bad. $14.50 a ticket. We rarely go to the movies so we didn't mind. Lord have mercy but TV really sucks the big moose these days. Nothing good on. It's so bad I might even have to read a book!

I am reading East of Eden again but I fall asleep.

Yup! Cable got pretty aweful. We dumped it a year ago and now have Hulu and Netflix and only pay for the computer. The only bummer is not having access to the college football games.

But we can get movies about football, like We are Marshall and Rudy

. Had to make the decision, was spending over $800/year on cable TV and thought I'd never pay $800 to see any football game on tv. And so, we dropped it.
Thankfully, the baby chicks aren't into college fb and are happy watching just about anything on tv. They get bored easy though and stop paying attention. Maybe they would prefer Big Bird on Sesamee Street?

We've never had cable and I don't see it coming in the near future either. DD and hers have it and good garden o' peas what a bunch of garbage. Theirs is included in the rent if you can believe that. You mentioning $800 a year makes me more determined not to get it.

I get a lot from the library to watch. Lately it's been Midsomer Murders and Pacific Rim. Pacific Rim was alright but not great.

I like the Mandarin Ducks but I'm now rethinking ducks in the spring. I think I'm winding down with chickens and all that. The thrill is gone.

We pay 89 a month for phone cable and internet. I'm trying to find a cheaper route for internet and phone. Figure can get the hulu and Netflix if we want. I just cant find anything out here that would be worth it. Seems internet is almost half of what we pay already at least when I try to look online earlier today.

I would drop my cable in a second if I could get my local channels .... but I live in a spot where no digital signal gets to me .... and I do like my local news and such - the website is not nearly the same as watching the broadcast and they don't have a live stream connection ? ???

If anyone can figure this problem out for me ! I would be most grateful.

You're lucky I have friend who can't get even cable. Cell reception neither. They live north, Constantia way.

I have a question about E bay and orders.

I bought a set of books but want to have them sent to my DIL in Florida. I contacted the seller to request the change. Does anyone here have experience in changing the shipping address to other places?

I want to buy things/gifts for my grand children and have them shipped directly to them. In some cases the shipping is free and there is not sense in having stuff come here first.

Did anyone already tell you that your shipping address and billing address can be different on EBay orders? That's how you do it. Uncheck the "same as shipping address" box and fill in the shipping address and billing address separately. (I know, more typing, your favorite

DW and I are discussing giving up chickens. I can save the money and take more trips south. It's hardly worth the work and over $100 I spend each month for 6 eggs a day, and that doesn't include shavings and water. Even though I sell eggs I doubt I'm breaking even. At the market they charge $3.00 - 3.50 a dozen. Of course they're much larger eggs since their most likely GC's or PR's.

SO? How many still have their Christmas tree up? Every year ours gets less and less ornaments put on. Pretty soon it will just have lights and that's it.

Rancher, I would be interested in some of your mature birds, if you do decide to get rid of them. If you make a decision before the picnic I can pick up that weekend. (You aren't that far from Tab, right?)

My cat is back! No idea where he was. We honestly thought we might not see him again. But he's back and eating a ton, so a happy ending there. He didn't even turn up when I was out yelling for him earlier so I'm really baffled as to where he was.

As for temperature, we were down to -17 last night not counting wind chill. Tonight is a balmy 7 degrees. Supposed to get above freezing and rain tomorrow.

Once my brother's cat got locked in the neighbor's basement. Only survived because of water in the sump hole. Was locked in there for 9 days. Was really hungry when it got out. Thank heavens the furnace decided to not fire one morning and my brother went over to see what the problem was. That's how he got his son's cat back. Your cat might have been in someone's barn or garage and they didn't open the door for days, due to weather conditions. Hopefully he won't do THAT again.
