Not only to go into Canada but also come back into the usa. It's a pain and that's one reason there are so few imported breeds into the us and why they cost so much when they are imported.

That's another thing, even if I got them into Canada, the stress and the worry about getting them back to the US may be too much. I just know I will miss them so much. I'll figure it out I am sure

I don't know much about chicken/bird laws, but I used to take Harley and Zu-Zu (dogs) to the beach in Canada all the time when I was still living in Amherst. It was no problem just to visit and papers were never even looked at. I am sure it is very different for birds though. I hope your new babies are doing good.

Thanks Peggy O! Yeah dogs and cats are generally no problem....birds can get a bit complicated. We travel with a cat, cockatiel, bearded dragon, hermit crabs and betta fish. I'd love to add chickens to the mix but....yeah:-( I mean I guess I could always visit them in Florida once or twice in the summer, but it would be super expensive to fly. Driving across the border would be so much more simple, and cheaper....haha! Well I thought I'd put it out there anyway, we'll see what happens!

Morning all. I can feel my fingers and toes again after going out to let out the cheeps. This is rediculous. Got my morning entertainment in. Gave the terrorists a cup of yogurt to eat in the run this morning. Talk about flying yogurt! They all looked like they were splash chickens and some had white beaks and ears! I just laughed looking at them. I dont think they were amused though. Eleven eggs yesterday. My egg customers are happy to be getting eggs again. Delivering 3 dozen the next two days.

This cold has my joints screaming. Havent worked on the sweater in a bit because of the cold affecting my hands. Typing is not easy either but I have to do it for work so I do it here. Hopefully it will warm up for the picnic or we will be having a big bonfire on the lawn at Tabs house just to keep warm!

Ta for now. Going to sling coffee today. Hopefully the mean people stay away today.

Morning all!
It's a blistering 1 degree out there this morning! Ugh I can't take it anymore. We're looking to trade in one of our cars for something new and I can't even fathom walking around outside looking at cars. I've been trying to do as much as I can online but that's not the same as scoping out a car in person.

Cleaned out the ducks brooder this morning now that it's just the two of them in there. Chicks are next.

Anyone have the Brinsea mini advance and know how to reset it to it's default settings. I was reading thru the instruction booklet yesterday and all the default settings are right around the same settings for hatching eggs as far as temp and stuff goes so I want to reset it and see if that will get my turner going. I don't know why but it just doesn't seem to be working. So I've been moving it myself.

You will be fine even if you cover it and humidity goes up. Just make sure your vent holes aint blocked. What thermometers are you using? At 80 in the room you shouldnt have a problem with temp being low. Have you tried moving the thermometers atound i know even with forced air in my genissis the left sid is normally a little cooler than right side. Thats using my brinsea spot check going through top air vent so not even opening it to move the thermometer.

I have two Thermo/hygrometers from Incubator Warehouse. Digitals. I've covered the incu top with a baby blanket. It brings the temp up to 99.5*/56%. on one and 98.1*/56% on the other.

Hatch day tomorrow. I usually hear something on day 20. Nothing so far.

Past hatches have been higher in temp 101. 2 or so. Last hatch I got three chicks and none of my EE's. Which usually hatch well. One Del and two from shipped eggs and they needed help. Not good, not good at all.

LOL! That is hilarious, and quite cool actually! Thanks for the post! I may consider something like this for the month that we travel more south in Florida I was just gonna bring them in the RV but hey HEHE!

I'd have to declare them when crossing the boarder though....it looks unlikely to happen but will make the call soon!

Well if you go, be sure to bring back some hatching eggs for sale. I'm sure we can meet you along the 81 corridor and buy them from you.

Stress for who? Chicken pets are not like other chickens. If you carry them in their own tow behind coop they should be fine. It's the change in the coop that stresses them out. IMO.
