NY chicken lover!!!!

You have Sebis? Where did the eggs come from? I have 5 and only 1 is laying. I have 3 in the incubator, and 1 waiting a few more days. I don't know if they are fertile yet. They say to lay on side & turn 5 times a day...around day 10, take out for half hour each day too cool and mist. Don't raise the humidity more than normal. Hatcheries usually add boys as the mystery extras. Good luck with the eggs.

I ordered them from a nice women who has show quality lines. I lucked out and got six eggs for forty dollars, not including the shipping. I could get a mix of colors, so I can't wait to see what comes out. She has lavenders, buffs, whites, sandlebacks, and I think blues.

And the little mystery chick is one I ordered on purpose - they sell something called a crested special straight run, which is just a random mystery crested chick. They don't sex any of their crested birds, so luckily they couldn't have sent a cockerel on purpose. I really hope it turns out to be a pullet because I do love sultans.

Rancher - yet - thing is I can't set out a trap - I have to shoot - and that means I have to be there ... and also the angle has to be right - as I have a main road and some neighbors that are situated where I have to worry about them. Got a nice deer rifle ...... but the situation has to be safe.

I hope it's a pullet too. I have 3 white Sebs a trio. A saddle back goose and a white split to grey young gander. I'm hoping for some color. Would love to see your babies when they hatch. Good deal on the eggs!!

I put blucote on Tapestry, but she put more on me. But I washed my clothes immediately pouring Chlorox2 all over the spots, washed up the floor and scrubbed my hands and thought it was good. Then I put some udder balm on her head let her back in the basement coop. She must have enjoyed her familiar solitary digs, cause she put an egg in the box. I found it when I came in after returning her to the coop in the dark. The feed store lady didn't have any nustock, but she said that she uses udder balm in the barn when the horses are chewing on the wood. She thought it must taste bad. So we'll see. Hope all is well in the morning.

Good luck with the foxes, they are magnificent creatures, but also efficient predators, and the chickens have no defenses.

Well, if I have any extra colored goslings, I could bring them along to the picnic if you wanted them :)

The frost bitten part of Gru's comb has begun to fall off. It'll just be nicely rounded now LOL no points :-(

Other than appearance they seem no worse for wear. Might be just as well since you'll not have to worry about it again and neither will he, poor thing.

I am going to down size the flock that I have. I have decided that I'm going to rehome 4 of my red sexlinks and a black copper maran. If any one s interested let me know. The reds will be a year old on March 28th and the maran will be 2 this summer.

Hubby is going to check with someone that may be interested. They inherited some wild chicks last year that are who-knows-what, may be game bird, roosters killed each other, hens have just started laying. We infected them with the morehens. :D

I was looking at rifles today. There are to many squirrels around and one was in the garage day before yesterday. They have a nest in the tree in the middle of our yard. I have a clear shot.
