Wow! I Cannot even begin to tell you how happy I am that it finally warmed up and the sun came out today! I have been dying to get these birds out of my shed and onto some grass in the sun and today I finally did it! I started taking my old silkie coop apart. I wanted just the coop/house part of it off the run that was attached to it because I planned on setting up pens with my poultry netting. It took me forever to figure out because as I was cutting I kept running into screws but here it is!

Then I started getting my poultry netting in order:

And the other pen to the left of this coop/pen:

And I finally moved everyone outside!!!

It'll be a little tight tonight but tomorrow I plan to build my other coop that's been sitting in a box in my kitchen since February and moving it out to the pen on the left. That will be for my larger pen of 5 birds. I think for now I'm going to keep the Orps in the coop Stony built me. As much as I want to move all the bantams in there, they don't need all the height it has. If anything they would need something with more floor space.

Thank you so much NY'ers for the well wishes. We said our vows! My DH's cousin who is a town Justice married us

and my SIL and MIL were there. We ate and had a good time after. DH thought I was losing my marbles up at 3am telling the chicks " wake up , get out now, you can dooo eeeet" but I read they hear me and my encouragement is good imprinting on them. I'm so amazed at all the chirping thru the pip hole! and the little guys run over to who is pipping and encourage them to come out too. I was cracking up. I've got four out now. One golden buff OMG so pretty and two blues and one white. They are all laying next to the egg that will most likely hatch next encouraging him.

Just love it.

Rancher and Lindsay, yes Jeff is a member here. Here is his ad for the chicks so you guys can contact him. He shows them and is very active with his birds. Nicely priced too.

Now you know I have no intention of contacting anyone who shows non - chickens as silkies are known to me. You might not know how I feel about them, but you'll learn.

Oh and congrats from me too.

I think you have a Brabanter there. I'm sorry, I feel bad for telling you otherwise.

This is what a Barnevelder should look like...the one in the front.

I've learned a lot from the Barnevelders thread, it's a beautiful breed and my girls have been my best layers.

And he is in Pulaski. That is up north and not far from us. Thanks again, Aria

These are coming out so pretty, glad more folks will get some, very healthy babies. Jeff will be glad, he had said he wants to share his eggs around. I thought I had a huge buff one but its one of the La Bresse LOL . Now I see that the LaBresse have yellow skin not black

So we have hatched now five of the little Silkies and two LaBresse. more still working on it pippin away. I quickly grabbed some egg shells out its getting pretty messy in there. They just crack me up the little "cheerleaders" for whoever is gonna hatch next. So smart!
