I found where my duck is laying her eggs. She has 3 so far. I hope she doesn't decide that a dozen is how many she wants to hatch, cuz I don't have room for a DOZEN more birds.

Thanks. LOL, we kind of prefer it this way. We wouldn't mind spending it with friends and whatnot, but most of our friends live a bit of a ways from us and are spending Easter with their own families. We moved away from our families...the closest ones live 8 hours a way. But it's no biggie...even when we lived close, we didn't see them much.I sure can. You aren't going to chickenstock are you? How close to Rome are you? If I don't have one by then I could get him then.
Sorry to hear you're spending Easter alone. We normally would but my fiancé decided last minute to try and repair his relationship with his mother. It was one of his fathers last wishes before he passed that he try and make things better. So we showed up unannounced and it seems to be going ok. Of course now my families ****** cause we bailed on Easter. Fortunately we live close to them and they are more forgiving than his mom.

ETA: We're not going to Chickenstock, no. I don't actually know a whole lot about it, but I do know, if I tell my husband we're going to drive a distance to visit with other chicken people that we don't really know...he's going to be convinced that I've lost my ever loving mind...lol.
Rome is about two hours from us. Past Auburn, into Geneva, off the thruway, and south about 30 minutes. We're right smack in the heart of the Fingerlakes, just on the tip of Keuka Lake.
There will be a swap meet in Auburn April 26th. Vendor space is $10. Buy or sell. Proceeds go to the Fingerlakes Feather club, although it says Fingerlakes,it is a poultry club with members in Syracuse, and east to Westmoreland.
Use a lead pencil not markers as the ink can leach into the porous egg shell.Date the eggs with a marker and wait until she starts to set. Choose the number you want her to incubate from the freshest eggs and shake the rest like they are in a paint shaker to scramble them so they do not develop. Mark them as no good and after she has been setting a while and is no longer laying new eggs, remove the bad ones and you will end up with the number you want her to brood.
Not chicken related but if anyone uses AOL email AOL servers have been hacked and you are sending out SPAM emails to everyone you have ever had any email dealings with it could be a reply to a craigslist post from 4 years ago and you will send them SPAM. Changing your password doesn't work, deleting your contact list doesn't help, and deleting your AOL email doesn't work the only way to fix it is AOL has to find the vulnerability in it's servers which they are now working on despite their original claim it wasn't them it was Apple products doing it until they got numerous complaints from people who didn't own Apple products or even a cell phone and the only other thing everyone had in common they all had AOL emails . So if you are an AOL email user just tell your friends to not click on links in your emails until it gets fixed
