NY chicken lover!!!!

Hope all the BYC moms had a beautiful Mother's Day. Mine was very nice -- the hubby insisted we go kayaking which I love, but usually make an excuse not to go. We headed to Labrador Pond at Lab Hollow. Guilty pleasure! It was very nice.

Back on the home front, this Canada Goose mom and her mate had a special day for sure, as their babies hatched on Mother's Day! Five little, floating fuzz balls.

Photo was taken in my horse's pasture yesterday morning...!

Hi Boskelli -

I have been out of the loop the past week or so. What's going on with Rancher? Is his DD having her baby? Is everything OK? Thx for bringing me up to speed.

Nice pix of the geese - not sure if our neighbors pair had hatched their brood in time. I went to check them this morning but the trails were impassable with the flooding. Waters dropped by a foot or so now, so I'll check in the morning. Parts of our road are now down on our trails, but other than that, we were very lucky here. Of course, it's raining again...
Ranchers' wife was having surgery today. She had a positive mammogram, so we all have our fingers crossed - not sure about the baby. Don't remember reading about a birth - but then my mind goes out by itself sometimes...................

TOB beautiful!

Thank you, Glass. Now what did I miss with Lynzi? I hope she's OK!

Thx, Boskelli. I hope your resident brood of geese are OK after the flooding. The rain was ridiculous last night. Such troubles in some areas!

I have THE WORST memory. I assumed it was about Rancher's daughter, but now I can't recall if she had delivered a while back. My mind is a hazy maze of cobwebs and confusion. I am sorry to hear that his wife had a concerning mammogram. I will certainly say some prayers on her behalf.

Rancher, I will pick up stuff etc for you. I could call you on my way home and you could meet me maybe near the 481 exit.

Just a moment to reply to this. that would be nice.

The news for DW was not as we had hoped but not completely bad. We'll know more Monday. I'm kinda okay. It's been a long day.

Thanks everyone for your prayers.

Evening all. Looks like it was a nice day. Let the terrorists out when I got home. Bill is incarcerated until the death penalty is meted out. He is not happy about it either. The little monsters were complaining loudly when I got home. Of course they knocked over their food tray and ate everything so they thought they were starving. I had to beat them back just to get the door open to feed them. The brats were cool, just hanging out in the run. I threw them some food as well and gave them some mealworms. They really like those. My poor silkies are mad about being locked up the last couple of days. I work closing tomorrow so they will get all morning to be outside until I leave. That should make them happy. Lots to do in the next couple of days.

Rancher--I hope all went well today. Thoughts and prayers to you and dw.

Not sure about the dead chickens. What size were they? Are you sure there are no marks anywhere? A weasel will kill a chicken and leave almost no trace. They kill for sport too. They will leave tiny puncture marks which can be hard to see. Just a thought.

Enjoy the evening everyone.

We did ok here...we're high enough up in elevation that we're only dealing with soggy fields. But our village is a mess. I haven't been down there, yet, DH told me to stay home and off the roads, but from pictures...man...my heart
You'll get to see plenty over the next year with the clean up, plus the crap you'll be breathing in, keep an eye on your tires. Been over a year since Fort Plain flooded constriction, and condemned houses are still being worked on.

I was thinking weasle too

Well it's quiet here tonight. The rooster decided today would be his last day. Got me good on the face, I didn't see him coming b/c my hair was down when I was picking up an egg that was left in the run. I was trying to hold off on culling him until after the hatches so I knew what I had to work with. It gets erie when there is no crowing. Oh well, he left me no choice.

Rancher I hope your wife is recovering and you guys get some good news Monday.
