Thx for sharing that video, Gramma... So glad it had a happy ending and that the woman could free that little fawn who had gotten himself (or herself) into a tough situation! Good folks! I have heard that disturbing sound first hand when we found a fawn that the horses ran over accidentally a few years ago. Sadly, it had a shattered hip and couldn't be saved. We try to check the pasture as best we can now before letting the horses out at this time of year. Farm equipment and lawn mowers are another huge danger to these little guys that are only 4-5 lbs. at birth and are nearly invisible in the hay fields. I've seen 5 fawns this past week alone, one of which was dead after having been run over by haying equipment.

Here's a little cutie that was hunkered down in the field next to my house this week. Ridiculously tiny -- unbelievably cute! Hope this precious little one has a happy ending, too. Those eyes just kill me!
