maybe you can tell who's print they are from this chart..i think grey squirrel seems about right ..i am keeping this chart in my faves for future use ..

I'm pretty positive that it isn't a rabbit. I have seen them around and I don't think a rabbit would climb the fence. It might be a rat, but I was thinking that a squirrel would be bigger. I have seen mice and rat tracks coming out from under the garage and believe that I have taken care of those. I was leaning towards a squirrel. the snow is a little beep so that third line might be the base of it's tale when it was trying to jump through the snow. Also I think that their feet aren't as wide. Either way I really don't need it hanging around my flock!
It could be a Possum? They can climb. Coons can too. Make sure everything is secure. Coon got in my first flock and I lost four. Crawled up over the run and up the side of the coop into an unsecured soffit.

I hate the pictures that posted of tracks. LIKE THE SON OF GUNS LEAVE TRACKS ON CSI!! Animals don't leave neat little tracks so you can tell what they are. If the snow is soft or the mud us soft they leave messy tracks and THOSE ARE THE ONES WE FIND!!

Speaking of CSI which is on. They always find this "one hair" or some other darn thing. "Oh look we've go a nice neat fingerprint". Yeah right! In one case on the guy cleaned up everything, took the vacuum bag but left one single hair in the bed? Yeah right! To bad life doesn't work that way. We have an unsolved murder here and no evidence? no one heard anything? It happens I guess. Oh and the Heidi Allen case too.

Hi everyone. I have an extra rooster to give away. He hatched in August and is beautiful! I am located in western NY, between Buffalo and Erie PA, right on the lake. If anyone is interested, let me know!

LuvMyChicks1491, Looks like squirrel tracks to me. They wont hurt your chickens, steal your bags of feed pretty quick if you don't have them sealed some how. I used to put mine in a old chest freezer, now garbage cans. Squirrel tracks look a lot like rabbit tracks, but different. Rabbit place their front feet when hopping or running behind their rear, the smaller front feet usually just make a single track beings they hold them together. The back feet will be in front as you look at a track. Squirrel the pattern is similar, but more all together and you see the toe nails more pronounced. I think a Gray Squirrel, harmless, I have more problems with chipmunks actually going into the coop and stealing feed right under the chickens noses. If it is a red squirrel they like to go into your hose and cause havoc.
I keep the bags of feed in the house so nothing can get to them. I'm thinking about taking an old fridge that we have in the garage and turning it on it's side and putting it out by the runs so I can store the food in there instead of the back room. I'd put locks on it so nothing could open them up. I've seen a raccoon pull trash out of a metal trash can that was all bungied with 5 bungies and they got it open enough to get out trash out...quite the sight.

It could be a Possum? They can climb. Coons can too. Make sure everything is secure. Coon got in my first flock and I lost four. Crawled up over the run and up the side of the coop into an unsecured soffit.
They usually come out at night though. My tracks appeared sometime between 8am and 1pm. That is why I'm thinking squirrel. The chickens weren't bothered and they ducks were locked up so no harm to them. Looks like they were just checking things out...I hope...but I take a head count and lock up tight every night.

If I processed birds I'd need and extra freezer. If I learn at the Next chickenstock without throwing up, watch out.

Only thing I want are some more Columbian Rocks. Chicks or eggs. Mine are still not laying.

EE's in the coop with them are laying so don't know what the deal is.

I also will be hatching some Birchens no matter what.

Hi Rancher. You're not alone with sluggish CR's. Only one of my two CR's are laying right now. Molly is very dependable. Ursa has not laid an egg since her molt in the fall. Grrrr! I'm hoping she'll pick up laying again soon, especially as daylight hours are creeping longer again. Helen, the Marans isn't laying either, but Pringles the Delaware is. She has a beautiful, large egg.
