Well what the heck? I would have gone in on your order had I known. What did you order? I sure would have liked to have gone in with you. Is there time to add to your order? Would you mind having others go in with you. I would of course pick up the chicks at your place. Don't be afraid to say no, my feelings won't be hurt. Just say I'd rather not.

Anyone else ordering from GFF and doesn't want to order a lot, but needs a co orderer, I'd be interested.

My chicks weren't GFF, the seller said they were from GFF stock. He lied of course. Hatched out not so good birds. Some folks mess up when hatching. He should have just said there was a problem. I would have understood. The first batch he sent were late and all dead. Then the second batch were late but okay. Except for the crooked toes and one chick not being the breed I ordered. Such is life. I'm over it now.

Thanks for clarifying that. i was seriously nervous! I know they did have an issue with one of their previous Isbar lines. I could imagine it could get overbread pretty quickly when your total population is 200. You really take a gamble ordering from people that what they say they have they truly do.

I will give you a yell next time I order. I ordered to shipping capacity on this round. Their shipping is cheap $35 or one hundred something for delta. Svart Hona, Bielfielders, Sulmtaler & Isbars. I was going to pick them up but they have an arrive alive 72 hour guarantee...saving me 2600 mile drive.

Night Tab sorry you are working yucky hours I feel for you I do them too all the time at the hospital last weekend was Friday 3p - 4 am and Saturday was 3p -5 am then Sunday 3p to 3 am

I stayed up later than normal last night because I am trying to keep up on here and I really wanted to try the new ice cream I bought Saturday. Peanut butter pandemonium from stewarts, it was good! Your DH said you had some rough hours. I couldn't keep the schedule you have over the years. I would've keeled over.

Was thinking of having some demonstrations at Chickenstock would anyone want to do a Chicken Processing Demonstration I will provide the chicken to be processed, Educational demonstration on Beekeeping, Hoof Trimming demonstration on Goats and Sheep again I will provide the Goat and the sheep I will save out a couple if anyone wants to do it, or any others you can think of Please let me know .

With the bee-keeping...what did you have in mind??

I'm a hands on person so might be nice to have folks do a chicken themselves with a teacher watching and helping if need be.  I could of course bring my own chicken.  Where's that mean rooster when you need him?

Have to find someone to do the demonstration first but I agree would love to do hands on

Ice cream sounds great they don't have good options like that in sugar free. I am close to keeling over now have tons to do tonight and am going to take a nap so I can get back up and finish what is left

With the bee-keeping...what did you have in mind??

Someone to show the beginners like me who are interested but have little to no clue like maybe the basic equipment needed and what it looks like if possible and how to get started plus info on why it is beneficial to do it. Do you want to do it?

I had thought to do it but now I'm not so sure if it will be another expense that won't pay for itself.

I get this way after losing a bird. Lord knows I've got plenty of roosters and I do have a replacement B. Marans, but hate to lose one just the same. Winters can be so hard. He was the only one who didn't sustain frostbite. Well with the exceptions of the EE.

Such is life I guess.

Anyhow found a guy who sells honey for $5 pound. Might be worth it to no keep bees.

What I find sad is that most of us BYC's live to far from each other. We don't need a BYC tent, we need a BYC village.

Again Such is life.

I'm reading a homesteading book. We want to be self sustaining, but not be alone too. If we all could provide everything for ourselves we'd no need for each other. Though solitaire is a lonely game.

So I have narrowed my incubator search to two. I know that there has been good reviews about the Brinsea mini. The only reason that I have been looking at others is that if I buy a dozen eggs I want to be able to put them all in. The Brinsea Mini only holds 7 in the turner. I found a Hovabator that is looks okay.

Bin Thread? I was hoping to spend under $200 so the Eco 20 sounds like a great deal!!

I found it. The Eco 20 is a few years old and from the sounds of the description it doesn't hold the temp really well and the other one has a broken turner.

If I'm going to spend the money I want to make sure that it works.
