Well darn, that's too bad. I didn't read the description really well since I'm not in the market for a new incubator. What I did was post a wanted ad for mine in the BST section and within a couple days I had someone message me looking to sell theirs. Spent $150 on it and love it. So you might consider doing a wanted ad and see what comes up.

So I have narrowed my incubator search to two. I know that there has been good reviews about the Brinsea mini. The only reason that I have been looking at others is that if I buy a dozen eggs I want to be able to put them all in. The Brinsea Mini only holds 7 in the turner. I found a Hovabator that is looks okay.

I would get it with the fan. What do you think about it?

You wont like the 2 small windows. My first Hovabator had one large window. Last year I bought the new Hovabator Genesis with the digital read out. It works very well. Comes autoset for temps. I think it ended up around $175 with shipping. I didn't get the auto turner because I only hatch inn it. But I think its worth it. Before I got my cabinet incubator, I only used the Hovabator.

I HATE the small two windows on the Hovabator...You just can not see in it at all. We use a flashlight and do something resembling contortions to see. The fact that it is styrofoam I believe makes it prone to temperature fluctuations due to my drafty old farmhouse. But, with that said I do use it as my hatcher & it was reasonable to purchase.

I love the little mini...it keeps temps & humidity well...but, it is small. It has issues when trying to hatch large eggs. Close to set it and forget it as you can get.

I had issues with both and wound up with a cabinet. If I hadn't bought either and know what I know now i would have invested in the Brinsea 20.

But, there are a lot of good products out there and any of these may work for your needs.

Earl is back inside again. 24 hours and they have his comb an oozing fountain of blood. I put blucote on him, and he shook his head. I have speckles of blucote on my face. In two hours I have a doctors appointment. I used deep cleansing cream, and a brush, and soap, and lotion...we still might get questions. Grrrr.

I stayed up later than normal last night because I am trying to keep up on here and I really wanted to try the new ice cream I bought Saturday. Peanut butter pandemonium from stewarts, it was good! Your DH said you had some rough hours. I couldn't keep the schedule you have over the years. I would've keeled over.

Love my Brinsea octagon. Holds nice steady temp, quiet and reliable.

Someone to show the beginners like me who are interested but have little to no clue like maybe the basic equipment needed and what it looks like if possible and how to get started plus info on why it is beneficial to do it. Do you want to do it?

I can certainly bring my 'stuff' to show people - I could possibly bring a top bar hive too. I would be happy to share my info. just bear in mind I'm not an expert! If anyone wants to help out with the session that would be great!

Skip it.

Go with the Genesis 1588. A better incu and better deal. I have an older model and it does pretty well. It was recommended by Speckledhen and she didn't steer me wrong.

Only trouble I had was the turner was broke (one row for eggs was broke) and I didn't have time to return it. I've been using it without the one row and it's fine. Keeps me from hatching to many anyhow.

Have you considered putting it inside cardboard box? Not covered mind you but tall enough to protect the sides. Not a tight fit but just enough to have an inch space on all sides. Not sure about it, just a thought.
