NY chicken lover!!!!

I'd forgot to post these. Sorry. DD borrowed a sewing machine and Gramma was sewing diaper covers before we left. She had already made crib sheets before we arrived. We went to Janie and Jacks and spent a few dollars there. Gramma had to call for a new bank card the one she had melted in the machine;

Cancel Your Credit Card

Be sure and cancel your credit cards before you die. This is so priceless, and so, so easy to see happening, customer service being what it is today.!!!
Now some people are really stupid!!!!
A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00, now somewhere around $60.00. A family member placed a call to Citibank. Here is the exchange:
Family Member: 'I am calling to tell you she died in January.'
Citibank: 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.'
Family Member: 'Maybe, you should turn it over to collections.'
Citibank: 'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.'
Family Member: So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?'
Citibank: 'Either report her account to frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!'
Family Member: 'Do you think God will be mad at her?' (I really liked this part!!!!)
Citibank: 'Excuse me?'
Family Member: 'Did you just get what I was telling you - the part about her being dead?'
Citibank: 'Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor.' (Duh!)
Supervisor gets on the phone:
Family Member: 'I'm calling to tell you, she died in January.'
Citibank : 'The account was never closed and late fees and charges still apply.' (This must be a phrase taught by the bank!)
Family Member: 'You mean you want to collect from her estate?'
Citibank: (Stammer) 'Are you her lawyer?'
Family Member: 'No, I'm her great nephew.' (Lawyer info given)
Citibank: 'Could you fax us a certificate of death?'
Family Member: 'Sure.' (Fax number is given )
After they get the fax:
Citibank: 'Our system just isn't setup for death. I don't know what more I can do to help.'
Family Member: 'Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. I don't think she will care.'
Citibank: 'Well, the late fees and charges do still apply.'(What is wrong with these people?!?)
Family Member: 'Would you like her new billing address?'
Citibank: 'That might help.'
Family Member: ' Odessa Memorial Cemetery , Highway 129, Plot Number 69.'
Citibank: 'Sir, that's a cemetery!'
Family Member: 'What do you do with dead people on your planet???
(Priceless!!)

Will this rain ever cease. It just started raining hard.

Has anyone else noticed that baby roos dont like their head touched ?
I am petting my 7 week old s.. when they roost at night to get them more tame.
I can tell roos apart by this ..
Pullets dont seem to care & will continue to roost .
Cockerals will shake their head & think about pecking me ..I can pet their body but not their head ...LOL

I've only had a pullet peck at me when I pet her, but I think she was trying to eat my wedding ring. I haven't noticed any difference between the pullets and cockerels and petting. I have noticed that the smallest chicken is the friendliest. They all come running to me looking for treats, but she hangs out around me. Mosquitoes love me and she hunts them next to me, so maybe that's why?

My chickens didn't flood out of the coop this morning. I think they're sick of this weather, too. I went inside and they stretched and looked at me (thankfully no crowing yet), but just moved around on the roosts.

Morning all. We got hammered by this training storm and Dh had to pump out the back yard twice, at 3 and 6am. Chicken runs are mud up to their ankles. The ground can't hold any more water so it is sitting on top. Expecting more rain today. I suspect that one end of our road is under water since the water was even with it yesterday. Good thing I have more than one way out. Cheeps are not happy. Had a little water get in downstairs before pumping but a towel was all it needed. I hope you all are doing ok.

They are looking for some guy just outside of Syracuse who was last seen pushing his car through the water...and he vanished...they think he was swept into an open man hole cover...

Be careful with all this water. It's movement is awesome and dangerous!

Hope you all are doing okay! My chicks are inside their houses for a bit! Except the mulch run...I piled that about a foot deep so they are good to play.

Rancher- my kitties were fixed this spring at about 1yr old.

I paid 1.69 a pound for strawberries at the u pick place near home.

Score ! How many hundreds of quarts did you get ?

So was your point to make me jealous? If so you've succeeded. I don't drive to pick here, since the gas eliminates any savings. The cheapest I paid was $3.50 qt, the most $5. Each is a little over a pound I think.

I've made quite a bit of strawberry and have moved on to things frozen from last year. Gooseberry jam is up for today. Yesterday was Red Currant Raspberry jelly. It set perhaps pretty good. I used a Stick Mixer to chop up the berries and I think that helped. I think I could have added a bit more water.

Remember there are exceptions. My Dels are usually friendly, though I've to many to baby them.

I plan to dig some drainage trenches and redig those that have become clogged. I'm going to look at some Pilgrim geese this am.
