NY chicken lover!!!!

I may be interested in some eggs in spring. I would like to run a test hatch being I have never hatched turkeys before. My friend asked me if I could hatch some royal palms if he bought the eggs. I don't want to mess it up.

Sure, Tab. Remind me in the spring and I will save a couple dozen eggs for you. Will you have any blue egg layers. I love the EE crosses I got from you. I lost one to a predator, but the other two are going strong.

horsekeeper ... My Buckeyes are doing great - they run in a little pack - like raptors :)

They are big boys ! Turned out all roos - but I wanted a roo anyway - so now I have to decide who to keep as the main Buckeye roo .... They are all great and nearly the same - I think I will take the most adventurous one - as they show little fear of the dogs :) So that is a good trait in a free range flock.

I'd like a nice turkey trio - don't really have a spot set up for them .... I do have a western saddle - brand new - that I could trade. I wasn't planning on any turkey additions this year though - so maybe I will be like Tab and get some eggs off of you in the spring ....

Like I don't already have one horse and seven saddles.

So what size, brand, bars, etc.? The turkeys are pretty much full grown, so I am asking $35 each or $100 for a trio. By spring I probably won't have any extras as I plan to eat them all winter long. I will have a lot of eggs in the spring if they lay like they did this year.

HA HA HA HA That is exactly why I have an EXTRA saddle ! ha ha ha

Western 16.5 QH semi bars - full light blonde leather, no tooling. Seat is black swade, never used ... ha ha ha You made me smile - such is a well-stocked barn.

Yeah - best to eat them up - leaving your good laying hens ... I have a spot I am thinking about - fairly sheltered with pines - and all I have to do is shore up the fencing - but it is really too late in the year for that ..... Price for a trio is very nice .... so just the fencing and shelter is my hold off ;)

If anyone is curious, I managed to get a refund on the shipping from the chick debacle. I had to go to a different post office and they paid me with a money order instead of cash so now I have to go to the bank on Monday, but I got it back. And good thing too because they certainly didn't deserve the money on this transaction.

not that it was adequate compensation for the loss but at least they did the right thing.

Last week got my first Silver Spitz egg! Then JJ has been laying steady every day since ! Hoping the second pullets starts soon .... I checked and except for the first egg - they are fertile ! Go Spencer !!! What a good Roo.
Come spring I can post you pics of what silver Spitz over black astrolorp looks like. Also what gold Spitz over production red looks like. For my sake I hope they are good for something, or off to freezer camp they will go. Oh and silver over white leghorn.
