NY chicken lover!!!!

Folks I'm just one person and no damage meant. I am not the host and in no way meant to press my standard on anyone else. I hope everyone has a good time. As for the Trappist Monks there's a reason they live in Monasteries. Cuz when they drink all that beer they can't get out and raise cain in the village. :lau When I was in Greece, we visited some of the monasteries. Lord have mercy they must have been drunk when they decided to build the places on the sides of mountains. Some were very high and scary. One originally had a basket that was lowered to pull you up and let you don't. Of course it had been modified for tourist later on but I thought no way would I be a Monk. I'm scared of heights. Still we had to cross some pretty high bridges. What was interesting was some of the gardens they had for growing food. Sorry if my sense of humor offends anyone. If you get the chance to go to Greece you should go.
no changes were made to accommodate you. I prefer no drinking around my children as do many parents. I do however have enough property that as we are enjoying our chickenstock those who feel so inclined can enjoy the day on the other end of my property. As long as everyone keeps in mind it is a family event. Ok no more about it. Its a fun day for everyone involved.

I thought I was out of the woods with this tonsillectomy recovery but early this morning I woke up and started spitting up blood. Went to the ER and apparently a scab came off too soon! I'm back on only soft and liquid foods :( A new scab looks to be forming hopefully or I'll have to go back to surgery to recauterized my throat...ouch! Just trying to keep positive thoughts that I won't bleed again. Keep me all in your thoughts and send positive vibes my way!
crossing my fingers and passing good vibes from my family to you. Feel better soon. Leave the food alone and enjoy some freezie pops and pudding. Oh and broth for all the vitamins.

Something was getting into my coop and digging tunnels under the bedding. So yesterday I bought a tomcat rat trap. To test it my husband used a pencil . Pencil shrapnel hurts!! When it'd sent flying by a tomcat. I put it in the barn just outside of the coop baited with chicken feed. Went back out and there it laid . Big fat DEAD HEADLESS rat. Again this morning I found another big fat headless rat.

Moral of the story!
If you have a critter problem use tomcat rat traps and chicken feed as the bait. It works great.

Oh and no the rats are not mine. They came from the horse farm next door. They have also put out rat traps.

Thank you guys. Mouth is so sensitive. Stuff is too hot or too cold, needs to be room temp or Luke warm. My DH will be making me some good broth tomorrow. I tried some canned broth and it was super salty to me. Sticking to the Popsicles and sherbet...stuff like that.

bread pudding might be sift enough and hardy enough to fill you. Or graham crackers in milk.

Canned broth is nasty salty ... if you buy canned gravy that has less salt ..with some veges could be a soup
Sorry to hear that ..do they ask you to not suck on things after ?
Like when they pull a tooth ..? they say dont suck on anything or it will dislodge the clot
