NY chicken lover!!!!

I hate to say it but I laugh when I see my chickens slide on the ice.     None has gotten hurt but it does get icy on the path.

I however don't purposely toss them on ice like the fools in one of the Youtube videos.
my flock won't even go outside until the ground thaws. I open the window for them and the just look at me.

I think if it was my flock falling it might be a tad funny, however it's me so it's blasted hilarious. I can't walk on dry ground let alone ice or snow.

You GUYS....speedy recovery. It is slow healing as we age. I HATE
falling. Have several times. Please take care. Regards, Aria

I thought I was out of the woods with this tonsillectomy recovery but early this morning I woke up and started spitting up blood. Went to the ER and apparently a scab came off too soon! I'm back on only soft and liquid foods :( A new scab looks to be forming hopefully or I'll have to go back to surgery to recauterized my throat...ouch! Just trying to keep positive thoughts that I won't bleed again. Keep me all in your thoughts and send positive vibes my way!

I hope you are feeling better quickly and are able to eat a normal diet very soon

Quote: There is a lot of stuff that says dont feed that to chickens ..
I try to use common sense as to whether I believe it all or not ..Im sure you do too .
My chickens wont eat raw potatoes ...will eat cooked ones ..
what I read is it is the green skins on the potatoes are toxic ...to everyone .
My chickens love tomatoes ..if they get in the garden they peck them all up & ruin them .
One year we had tons of cherry tomatoes that was their snack

Ruby and Gramma, hope you feel better soon. Ruby, try some honey, it helps with healing, and is a food of sorts, and delicious, antibacterial, anti fungal...what could be better?

Update on Mama, she is still with us. Moves a little better, eats a little, does poop a little. Not a normal chicken yet however.

Well I did myself in ...Slipped down the deck snow covered steps ...
Didnt break anything thankfully ...:/ .
sprained bruised my wrist / hand ...cant pick up anything much with that hand .
But doing dishes seemed to help it ...:(
my back hurts where I hit the steps ( not on my backbone .) .just a spot under my rib ..where I have lots of padding .
My Hubby says ...you got watch out for falls now that you are 60 !

60 I don't believe it! You don't look it.
