NY chicken lover!!!!

Hi Ladies !
i think Rancher was trying to be a Gentleman by not suggesting Ladies Pee in the Woods..LOL

Male Foxes , etc mark their territory ....humans do too ..men & ladies Too ..
What Ive read is this works somewhat ...
Ive not seen a fox this last year ..Ive been told they are below us ..
I think when other easy game is available they get that ..
I randomly walk around my territory ...and sometimes mark it... just to check for them ..

Thank you. You ladies wouldn't want to get a case of poison ivy. Now that would be fun to explain.

However I do recommend you see if you can find where the foxes have a den and tear it up. This year I was pulling up chain link fencing that some fool dumped in the back and scare a poor rabbit. Too it would help to learn about your predators and how they behave.

I do think the human smell is important.

Moving on. I was looking at videos on how to change windshield wipers since I just got the car back from the shop and one broke as I lifted it to clean the snow. I'm not paying to have it replaced. However after watching videos I realized some ladies might want to be informed about such things and do these things themselves.

I learned there is a "cabin filter" in my Cobalt and how to change it. I did not even know it was there.

Too, the air filter. The shop wanted more than I was willing to pay, but now I think I can do it myself.

I did learn to change the blinker light this year. I hope you ladies will make an attempt to try some of this stuff yourself.

great point!! A self reliant woman is more often a safe woman. Though it's not a simple task knowing how to change a tire is also a must. There are a lot of good people out there that will stop and help us, however there are also a lot of ill intended people as well. Unfortunately we can't tell the difference until it's too late.

If you take your car to Advance Auto or Autozone they change wipers for free and are 9 out of 10 times happy to show you how to do it.

Thanks I'll remember that. I'm going to take care of it tomorrow.

Now as far as changing that tire? Some of today's cars don't come with jacks or spares so check your car. Also some insurance policies have Auto assist riders so check your policy.

I bought AAA for ourselves and my two daughters. I found out out Insurance policy was charging me $6 a month for Auto assist and dropped it asap. AAA is better I think, though the "discounts" are over rated. Less than what we were paying on our insurance, though it may depend on where you live. Still I feel safer with them having it.

My college daughter's car broke down on the thruway at night and we were glad she had the AAA.

As for the rest, the more you can do for yourself the better off you are. Man or woman.

Of course a well prepared man is just as important. My point was just that most women are not as informed on vehicle maintenance as men. We (my generation at least ) were tough to be lazy and say someone else can do it. I learned the hard way it's super important to check oil level frequently and know how to change a tire. Most men learn that stuff early on.

My older brother was a car buff and my other older brothers never taught me anything about cars. My father had taken a hike. My mother was a single mom who didn't drive.

Our Cobalt has a monitor with the % life of the oil, but I will learn to change the oil if I can.

Don't feel bad rancher, my dad and one of my brothers are mechanicaly inept. I've always done all my mechanical work myself, top to bottom everything, self taught. Used to be books, now with internet sites and YouTube everything is so much easier to figure out.
I only do it cause I don't like paying someone else tons of $. Unfortunately everyone thinks I can fix their cars, usually for free...I'm not a mechanic, and I hate working on cars...Worse thing I've ever done is buy a manual tire changer, saved us hundreds of $ but nominated me to change tires for way too many people.

Well you should have hid that tire changer in the barn under some bales of hay.

I have a friend who does computers and he says "don't tell anyone else". He offered to do the work. I like to keep my friends like my books. Where I can always find them but seldom use them.

I just paid $70 to have the snows put on. One they were already on the rims and two that stupid light was on inside the car so they had to fix the "tire monitor". Generally it costs about $20 to switch them out.

Next is that blasted "check engine" light.

I try to do as much as I can for myself without paying. It gets harder as you get older though. I'm still kicking, just not so high.
