NY chicken lover!!!!

When it rains it pours!!! Had my hen with the cut in the crib brooder on the porch and it has saved her life. I went out to do chores this morning and was thinking how quiet it was. No crowing...Once I opened the door to my hoop coop I found out why...They were dead! They were all on the floor all dead except one rooster. He isn't in good shape at all I think that his neck may be broken. I'm not sure, but I think that I'm going to have to put him down. I can't bare to see him suffering. They weren't eaten at all just all dead. I'm pretty sure that it was a mink/weasel. There wasn't any signs of it being anything bigger. I have the welded wire over the panels so there wasn't a way for anything big to get in there. I did notice this afternoon a hole by the pop door that was about 2 inches wide. I have straw bales in front of the door because I don't use that one during the winter. I have cleaned up all the bodies and set a trap in the coop . I hope that it will come back tonight so I can take care of it. I just really worry cause the hoop coop is right next to the duck coop. I would lose it if I woke up to all my ducks dead! The hardest thing was telling the kids.,,

Oh and they were the all of my large fowl birds...I knew I needed more, but I didn't think that it would be this soon...

So sorry Luv

I don't have any of my breeding pens set up yet and I have some interesting CCL that threw the recessive gene and are white & crested and one non-crested. They lay the blue egg too. So, if you are looking for show CCL- I don't have them yet because everyone is together. However, I will post my pics and maybe some of them can help you with your emerald project! If not...no worries!
The first pic of the eggs is in sunlight..all the same eggs collected within the last 12 hours.

egg color is the most important i think :) show quality is not important to me, are these auto sexing like normal ccl? i am looking for 5 or 6 :)

I'm so sorry! If you're close to me I'll raise up some chicks til your coop is ready.

@LuvMyChicks1491 unbelievably terrible,so sorry. ..
Sounds like the work of a weasel. They usually just kill them all, I think they must just drink the blood. It's my biggest fear, my coops are hawk proof, but barely big predator proof, definitely not weasel proof.

So Sorry ...
I think the weasel was in your coop the night before last too..
Pretty sure what is on Mrs. Frizz..is a bite
When it is jagged & uneven like that that is a bite
do you have lights you can put on inside in the other coops this eve ?
I too fear this ...a weasel could get in easily ..
My cat is out at night prowling ..I dont know if that keeps predators away ?

This was one of my comets that got attacked by a fox ...
Im glad I was around that day ...as it mostly just plucked her feathers..
Before I chased it away
