Sitting on eggs seems to be contagious in my barn. Earlier today it was 1 girl on 5 eggs now it's her plus another on 2 eggs. I marked the eggs and now I wait to see. If in a few days they are still sitting great. Lock down starts day 16 or 17?

@rancher hicks on Craigslist there is a listing for free wood chips. Its in Liverpool and the guy will deliver. Not sure if your interested but I know woodchips are great to have. That's just to far for me to go.

Ours are pretty bad and I'd like to do them myself as I don't know much about having a cleaner come in. I did learn to use just the basic foam shave cream on the worst spots, when I worked at a retirement home so I will do that but thanks for the tip.

You can rent carpet cleaners from some grocery stores or from Lowes and Home Depot, but a few rentals is the same price as buying your own.

They do look nice don't they. I've read that water foul are more likely to bring in AVF, but I don't have ducks anymore so I don't worry.

He is a golden doodle. He's a bit fluffy...just had a haircut. But...it's not soft fluffy like a golden, it's a fluffy halfway between poodle and golden really, a bit coarse.

Well at bed time an hour ago Sprinkles was still on her 5 eggs. Grumpy and snappy as I checked on her. The other sitting hen is still on her 2 lone eggs as well. Yay I might get to see the miracle of a broody (or2) mean hens. Well not usually mean.

sounds like they are really broody ...if they are mean ...I only have one hen who isnt mean with me when shes broody ...she is mean with every one else..I can look at her eggs & list her up ...but if I mess with her bedding / nest she gets snappy
