NY chicken lover!!!!

If your peas haven't come up dig some up and look before replanting. Sometimes we plant to deep, peas do best with barely any soil covering them. I usually have to sprinkle more on them when it rains.
Are you all using seed inoculant? It helps. I haven't used it in a few yrs but picked some up for the beans and peas this yr. $6.75 for enough to do 8lbs of seed at our feed store. They absorb nitrogen from the air and put it back in the soil when you inoculate with that bacteria.

Where did you buy it? All legumes are nitrogen fixers, but I hadn't thought of inoculating them! I should- this is only my second year at our house, and my garden soil needs as much help as it can get!

McDowell & Walker in Sidney, they always have it. I don't know where else, all seed catalogs carry it, maybe better gardening/feed stores.

Finally got the girls outside! Still working on the roof system but the chickens are killing my allergies, someone had to get out of the house, lol. Set up their little brooder heating pad heater, boy, they seem happy out there.

I have a hard time with them as well. The dust and the wheat kill me. I just had some non wheat feed milled though and hoping that helps a bit. I hope you are able to breathe soon!

ever happen to you?

I gave away a rooster. (Del ) and last night I noticed I have three. I am pretty sure I only had three to start with. I wonder and emailed the guy to see if he brought him back. I wouldn't have cared mind you. I can find someone to take him. They're not tame roosters since I don't have time to play with them all.

I moved the Marans to the wooden coop #2. I let them out and the marans rooster, got into it with the EE rooster but it looks like they've sorted things out. So all birds are inside the fenced in part of the yard.

TTFN,
