I thought EE too ..Did you get some Welsummers somehow ?

Why EE? It has no muffs, the legs aren't green, and it has a single comb. She got these in a surprise package from McMurray, I believe.

they came from Cackle but yes a surprise box of 50. Luckily only 5 or so are bantam. Those lucky girls will be my "natural incubator " I keep reading the little ones make the best broodies.

@PhoredaBurds the gold hen I bought from you in may has spurs. She is perfectly feminine until her feet. It's so funny looking.

Edit:: no I'm not complaining. I love her I just think it's neat. Any clues if it will pass on to babies?

Crazy. I haven't seen that my in my hens, but will have to go out & double check. Hope she doesn't try to use them. Do u want a replacement hen (without spurs)? I don't know if that trait will be passed on.

I would like another blue or 2 in spring if you don't mind. But I am very happy with the unique girl.

Great. Several of the blues I grew out this year are looking really nice. I hope to have plenty of blue spitz chicks & eggs to spare in the spring. Also hatched out a couple blue silver spangled boys who will be in with the silver girls in the spring in hopes of making more of them.
