NY chicken lover!!!!

Great. Several of the blues I grew out this year are looking really nice. I hope to have plenty of blue spitz chicks & eggs to spare in the spring. Also hatched out a couple blue silver spangled boys who will be in with the silver girls in the spring in hopes of making more of them.

Yes please on the blue spitz chicks lol!!! Are your spitz flighty? The cpl I had w/ a mix of chicks were just wondering if they all were or just happened to be breeding on these.?

I don't find them to be flighty, but I do spend lots of time with them as chicks. They are definitely not lap chickens and can fly fairly early. They are smart & inquisitive birds, and learn where they're supposed to be. So far they are my favorite breed of chicken.

Awesome I would love to try them again I will have a mixed flock w/ different breeds trying to be conscious of breeds that will fit in well. Thank you my chicks do get a lot of hands on time. I think that makes the biggest difference IMO

@dcba flock PhoredaBurds has amazing stock. I have 7 total from her. The males are neat as can be. They help teach the babies the rules. They are very flock orientated and I wouldn't say flighty, just to curious to stay stay put for attention. I have 2 blue, 3 gold, 1 Cham wow (I know that not correct but I forgot the color

) and a silver. Like I said they are my fun breed.

no worries there. Her are fantastic. I also have a lot of the offspring from the spitzhauben I bought from her. Both black austrolorp and white leghorn hens adore the spitzhauben men. So I might have some of those available in spring and possibly some gold and or cream spitzhauben.
