NY chicken lover!!!!

Thank you. I've been working on good color. This is the lightest they will be all year but still they come out a beautiful color. In the Spring they are all a really nice chocolate color.
Ive been hoping my Maran Roo Cowboy will pass on some of the dark egg color to his of offspring ..thru my mixed breed chickens ...
Cant wait till they lay a egg in 3- 4 months

Good day all! Crappy few days here in the Finger Lakes. Rain rain and more rain. Ive started feeding FF but I think I have mold growing now. I'm so disappointed in a cochin that I have. Not only is it probably a cockerel, but it may not even be a cochin. I'm thinking maybe langshan. I really wouldn't care the breed if it was female. So, once I hear it crow- I will be looking to get rid of him, if anyone close to me wants it. Its somewhere between 15-18 weeks old. Why isn't he crowing yet? Maybe there is still hope.

Hellloo fellow NYers. I'm between Syracuse and Rochester, small town called Geneva. I'm starting again with a new flock after having to give away my first flock due to neighbor issues. I bought this flock of 10 as 9-13 week olds. Last time, I raised from day olds. These new ones aren't as people friendly as my old ones. And Ive had a rough start, first with Cocci, then with some kind of attack that scattered them all and one was living in the woods across the street for 4 days before I could catch her.
We are in a good place right now, and I'm looking forward to getting eggs and if we get a broody, I'm going to give her hatching eggs instead of breaking her!
Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Welcome! I'm over in Middlesex area, about 1/2 hr away from you :). Hope your second flock works out better for you,

I still can't figure out how to insert pics off my camera here. Did work for the Homestead thread, but even if they show up here on the computer can I insert them on this thread?
