NY chicken lover!!!!

Well now I'm leaving for TX thursday but my dd will be staying here. So I'll have chickens a bit longer I guess. In case anyone cares to take some.

Funny coop has a window or two out but under the roof of the run and no frost bite that I noticed. Coops that are damp tend to have more problems. With cooties and frost bite. Dry and cold is better. There is a book called "open coops" and it's good to get tips from or follow the examples. Folks worry to much about the cold. Even Frenchy survived the winter.

I still swear by DE for mite proofing. It's cheaper at TSC and I use a lot of it. Or did. Will still dust after birds are gone. Who knows new owners my get chickens.
Rancher, We will miss you and your writings and knowledge. You remember me....We no longer have Silkies...we have one
Rhode Island Red and 4 mixed breeds, given to us by neighbor.
Regards, Aria

Had Window World come and do the windows in November. They did a nice job for the money. House was much warmer and easy to open today. The fresh air smells nice. Window World is coming tues. to talk about doors. Hope it's just as affordable and nice as the windows were.
TTFN,
We've had Window World do a couple of our windows as well, very happy with their work.

So had to go to Syracuse today and had my first experience with a CountryMax. I really liked it, although I went to 2 different ones Dewitt and Cicero and neither had chicks left even though it’s chick days. But I couldn’t believe the prices. At all the TSC up here feather fixer is 18.99 a bag But it was 13.89 at CountryMax, and they had different things there, I was also able to find an oyster shell in crumble size for my small serama ladies instead of the pebbles in the brand I have available. Now I need to find more excuses to go to Syracuse.

I get all my feed from the Countrymax in Cortland. Their chicks were normally pre-order only then extras sold off, but have gotten more into open chick days like TSC, just scaled back in quantity.
