NY chicken lover!!!!

I called my cooperative extension office looking for eggs to hatch with my class. Found a farm w cheap Easter Egger mixes for that project, but they recommended another guy as well who sells eggs and chicks to 4H kids. All pure breeds. When I googled his name, I saw he had a few state fair wins in some poultry breed categories and is NPIP. So I know they are pure & he is reputable. I let my son pick the breed since he is the reason I am hatching (it’s for educational purposes and he doesn’t go to the school where I teach so I want him to experience it as well.)

We have room for 6 more chickens at the farm this year, but he sells hatching eggs by the dozen so if I have more than a 50% hatch rate I will have extras to get rid of. Not sure how successful we will be in our hatch, but since they will be pure I thought maybe someone on here would be interested. Will prob keep them for a few weeks and let my son pick out a couple then rehome the rest. ❤️

Hello! I have family outside of Buffalo! You’re the one place that’s probably colder then here! Lol
Yes my girls have a heater in their coop. They literally stuck their head out and go no further. We have dealt with some frostbite. They do not go out in the deep snow but we have a small pen that is covered so they can stretch their legs. We have had a ton of coop time..I have added many hanging items and treats. 😂

Hi all! I have 3 roosters that either need new homes or crockpots. They’re about 6 months old. Mom is a brabanter and dad is a showgirl Silkie. Located near Saratoga.

Updating my original hatching plans. Will be hatching Cream Legbars and Olive Eggers from Meyer, and show quality Wheaton & Blue Wheaton Ameraucanas in June. PM if interested! Cost is only what I paid for the egg itself, and I’ll brood them for a few weeks before selling. Only keeping a couple of each!
