NY chicken lover!!!!

hmmmm yes that is cheap for the pair, I''ll talk to DH about it, we do have to go down that way sat eve........ sorry it didn;t turn out so well for you....on second thought his peacocks may be mean too............... my neighbors up the rd have a million ducks I'll have to go see what kind...... thanks though! good night all......zzzzzzzz

HOLY SMOKES! I only went to craig's list for half an hour to check those postings and we're up to 16 pages.

$70 is cheap for a pair of peacocks? I will have to remember that, when we decide to get some. I haven't made a final decision about the ducks yet. I would have preferred a younger pair, but... I may end up getting them, just because I feel bad for my 9yo son. Of course, if they aren't able to be handled, then it isn't worth it for him. Oh...I don't know... lol

Ok now I have to get on the Watertown craigslist (sigh...) I fear you've created a monster!

Isn't Caanan near the Mass Border? and it is too funny to watch all of us going nuts over those blue laced reds!! I may back out of the race and defer to the more experienced hatchers... I would hate to be too new and screw something up on such fabulous eggs.

Well Taj, I hope you're happy. Now my husband wants peafowl.

All because I told him about the eggs and you losing your peafowl and how I wish I had something to trade. Two is good, four is ok, but eight is too many for us
After looking on some hatchery sites; $70 is a good price for 1 1/2 year old birds. Most want $300 - $450 for a pair of yearlings. If we were just getting them to breed, fine. But we like to watch them grow up. Whatever type of animal it happens to be.

I also went to SUNY Potsdam (have the hoodie on right now hehe). Maybe some of you could come up for the Northern NY Poultry Fanciers swap/meet this year. At the very least I'd like to go to the Syracuse fair to check out the chickens this year.

Keep us posted when that is.

I live about 15 minutes away from the state fair, so i go every year. Its nice to go into the poultry buiding and see all the birds...and maybe walk out with a few

hello everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that I am in search of full grown or POL pullets and hens! I have tried craigslist without sucess and though I would post here as well. Any breed is OK as long as they are larger and decent layers. I have a lonley roo that I want to keep but not enough ladies to go around. I am also looking for LF cochins but to be honest if anyone in my area has anything else I will be tempted to buy, so PM me if you have anything!

I think you may be too far from me, in Chester, but I have two white leghorns that I am trying to find a home for - they lay well, every day and haven;t missed a day so far. Just do not like to be cooped up, and I work, so I win, they lose
