Hi!!!
AmyJ, I've had several eggs pip in the middle over the past year......and previously. One of the Delawares that just hatched pipped in the middle....and ended up coming out the wrong end of the egg. Just keep an eye on it. Sometimes if their head can't reach the air sac at the top of the egg, yolk and other fluids within the egg can actually suffocate them. I usually enlarge the pip hole with the blunt end of a sewing needle to make sure the baby's nostrils are clear. Give it time to hatch on its own.....but you may need to give this one a helping hand to hatch. Wishing you much luck with the hatch!!!!!
Jen, sorry to hear your power isn't back yet!!! Generators can be life-savers!!!! How's your hatch going?!?
PeepsInc, heating rocks on the stove and putting them in the bator........another fantastic idea!!!!!
Well, I guess I'll try to get some sleep.......hardly got any last night.
Kathy
