Congrats on the new chick!! I saw Newburgh schools were closed today...any idea how much snow you guys are expecting there? They said we should get 8-16" by 7am tomorrow with more expected by tomorrow night so I am crossing my fingers that we don't lose power...we are 1 week from lockdown on our 29 duck eggs and I would so hate to lose them now.

Were actually Valley Central schools, but everything is closed anyway lol. Last I saw 12 to 18 inches by tomorrow night for us.

The chick is totally out now and resting, its so cute. I will have to get some pics up soon. Hopefully we will have a couple more, today is day 20, so we still have time

I only want about 15 large fowl so you could order what ever you want. He has bantams. How many would you want? Ulster county is pretty far, would you be able to pick them up. He said (according to his website) they are going to shipped sometime in June.

I'm still trying to find a home for my 5 brahma roos!!!! I think I may end up calling the local butcher or see if I can get someone to "process" my 5 plump roos....I just don't have the heart to do it myself....although my 13 yr old and my 82 yr old gran said they would do it...

Hi everyone in Central, Upstate and all of New York! Thank you to Chickens14 for pointing me in the direction of this thread from the new members intro thread. I'm thrilled to find folks from my CNY area here too. I've had some trouble finding resources in my area... I'm in the Rome/Westmoreland, NY area, which is about 40 miles East of Syracuse. I would love hear about any local resources that you may know of, so please feel free to contact me! I am interested in everything... as we are starting from scratch, so any tip & tricks for chicken keeping in CNY would be great!
Nice to meet you all!
Karen
