Here's a pic of some of our new chicks, 23 so far. I think that is going to be about it.

That chick is AWESOME! This is what amazes me...his mom is a white silkie from a local breeder. His dad is a White Showgirl from a well respected breeder. Yet he/she comes out black with normal feathers...it's too weird!

Power went out last night, trees down. Got a couple here I think. Fortunately they didn't fall on the fence again. Last year had one fall on the fence and now that needs to be fixed. Heard one fell down the road knocking out the power. It's real windy but the power is back on.

Snow again! More snow blowing. Have to snow blow before I can get to the coop. Temp in coop was 30* without heat lights on. The door to one of the runs blew open and it got some snow. Chickens don't know what to make of the snow.

I've got one chick to get rid of before we leave for AL this week. Anyone want it? It's a Del I think, pretty sure.

Won't make the show in AL today but plan to go again in April and there is one then in Clanton. Was going to switch my flight but it will cost as much as a new ticket so might as well go twice. Anyone want to go?

Well take care just trying to keep this posting alive.

It was so nice for 2 days and now that all the dumb snow melted and flooded everything its snowing again. I hate snow. Anyone around the wny area want to buy a few pullets that are almost to laying age? They are hatchery layer crosses, dekalb amberlink, golden comet and production red covered by golden comet roo so should be great layers. My chickens layed all through this nasty weather. I am still getting the same number of eggs that I got in the warm weather. I get 6-7 eggs a day from 7 hens.

Just got some eggs in the mail. Some from the Feb. swap from Florida (do not know what they are yet

), 12 Pumpkin Hulseys from Tenn., a friend is bringing over 3 doz. BCM and some eggs from our own flock of LF Brahmas, BA, Speckled Sussex and a couple banty blue Cochins. I originally thought the local friend was taking the bator to his house but NOOO, he said he will have to go out of town so could I please do the hatching and I get half the chicks. Uhh YEAH! Pure FBC!
