Thanks Sue! Its my first time hatching and I am such a nervous chicken mommy!!! Good thing my hens cant see me cause they would be laughing their beaks off!

I can't go back and read the 200 pages, but was curious if there were any Long Islanders on this board?

We lost our old beagle this morning. Found a pee mess after everyone had been out once so I was making all the dogs go out again. The others went right out. I looked into our game room and he was laying in a ray of sunshine. He looked like he was comfy basking in the sun. I didn't have my glasses on so I called to him "Come on Obie let's go out again". He didn't move I squinted and saw no breathing. He was gone.

He had been dropping weight and looking bad. We knew it was coming, but it still hurts. He was a good old boy and I'll miss him.

Morning folks,

Mad- don't worry I've had hens hatch in below freezing weather and I doubt they sat 24/7 without eating or doing their business.

Water- welcome to the post. I'm sure you'll find lots of nice people here.

Tab - I'm sorry about Obie, though I can't think of a better way to go. Laying in the sunshine. Sounds very romantic or something like that. I'm sure he was happy.

I'm sure everyone is busy since it's the week end. Still I wanted to remind folks here that I am going to PA to the Hinkjc farm for chicks. If you think you might like chicks from them and you'd like me to pick them up for you I will. She's a nice person and her stock is sound.

It looks as though things may be ready in April. I'll pick up and you can pick your chicks up here in Syracuse or I might be willing to connect at rest stops headed north on 81 as far as Syracuse.

I'm just off the main highways so there's no chance you'll get lost. Make all your arrangements with her and send payment to her.

I will contact you on the pick up day and we can connect then. Please send me a PM or e-mail if you order chick from her.

Take care

Rancher
