Karen and Rudy Brouillette (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong) did have SLW and GLW. They live in knoxboro.

Thanks! They're the same couple that Cydney83 just texted me about, so I've gotta check them out also.

Wait????!!! Ummm I thought all chickens were pets??/ No, just kidding - I would love pet quality Silkies - the only breeds I'm going to be strict on are the ALBC ones that are Critical, Threatened, Watched or recovering.

I actually live ten minutes about from Royal Ski Mountain BTW - just off 29 near where that Green Lodge is you pass on the curve? - I live down and around and through the woods that way - Quite a nice Jaunt coming from Albany happyhensey - you wouldn't have wanted to be out here today - it SNOWED and sleeted most of the day until about noon and unless you're on a main road they're quite slick!

Which breeds on the Conservation list are you working with or interested in? I'm helping my preserve save the Dorking.

Welcome Bridgette! I hope everyone up north is doing well. Down here in the Hudson Valley we are getting deluged with rain. My chickens are building an ark. Seriously, between the snow and the rain now I have a lake in the back of the house, in the front of the house and on the road. DH is manning the pump, ready to fire it up at a moments notice. The girls (my chickens) are mad that I left them locked up today but their run is one giant pool! Good thing I did a big cleanout yesterday and put all fresh litter and stuff in their tractor as they will probably be locked up again tomorrow! More treats are in order (sigh). My lone silkie chick is not happy about being alone. I am getting more eggs tomorrow and hopefully this hatch will go much better. If it does, I will be building another tractor when all this rain and snow are gone. Cant wait for spring!!! Planning on starting Javas next spring so another coop is in the works. Just figuring out how many trees to level to make that happen! Good luck with your hatches everyone!

When I get up from the computer, I will check the message.

Oh NOOOOOO! I was wanting some Silver Laced Wyandottes and had looked at another color "Blue Laced Red Wyandottes"??? that were eggs for incubation and I didn't win the bid on ebay. Help me! My husband just sighs and says I guess this means another coop and area right? He's sooo patient with me and I love him for it. My little GL Wyandottes from TSC are doing amazing and have already started on their little wing feathers - some really unique facial coloring on them too - I'm loving it. Nothing like getting up in the morning trudging out to feed the 2 cows (Chuck and Mongo our two steers) the four pigs (Moe & Jack - red wattles for the freezer and Deuce Pigalow and Mia Hamm for breeding) go play with the big chicks and then come inside head for the basement to the little ones in their totes and the duckies in their tote. Come back up the stairs, check incubators again (5 of them) temp, humidity - turn the babies, get a cup of coffee and review the next lock down date, arrival of new eggs or hatching. Oh yeah, and since I'm home right now did I mention the cooking and cleaning - sigh

I'm slowly breaking out of the chicken addiction - I'll be busy enough playing with and keeping all these kids straight for the year along with the veggie and flower gardens, canning and such! I'm glad to know I'm not alone .

I have spaced out on numerous things this winter.

I'm getting to the point where if I don't write it down, I will forget it! So no worries! I am glad you made it on here finally. Welcome! Glad to see those BO/JG's and LB/JG's are doing well! We kept a few in our layer pen and love them. I like seeing that you will be working on the ALBC list of endangered breeds. Keep us posted on how that goes.

Karen and Rudy B. do have SLW's...they are the breeders I got my BO's from, who would be the parents to the mixed chickens you got from us.

I'd be curious over Sue's suggestion of the APA judge in Buffalo that raises SLW's. I'd send him an email.

Edited to add an additional thought.
