NY chicken lover!!!!

So got an e-mail from my friend in AL and she won star'd reserve breed in over 100 silkies this past weekend. And I've got some of her eggs in my Incu.

I hope they hatch.

She also told me that only two of the twelve Del eggs I took for her are clear and they did go through the x-ray when I went down. So perhaps the x-ray doesn't harm them like I was told?

Anyhow I'm glad about her win, Isn't that neat?

I hope they hatch too! When are they due?

They are due the 25-27. I've learned never to expect them to all hatch on THE day. One time I had a bantam hatch two days earlier than everyone else. Also these are silkies after all. I don't trust them. I had all the eggs mixed around but now somehow they are all together in one corner of the incubator. It's really scary.

Hehehehehe... creepy little buggers, even in their eggs! Mine generally hatch on day 19 instead of 21. They do it to sneak up on you!!!

Better put that tinfoil hat on early!

Just so you know. I plan to go to PA to pick up chicks from Hinkjc. There may still be time to order and pay for yours and have me pick them up for you and you can come and get them here.

We are all thinking about bed probably since those dang roosters like to get us up! I have one BC Roo in the basement with his gal since I just picked them up and he has decided that since the outside Roos aren't doing enough (yeah right!) that maybe he needs to add his voice around 5:00 am. It's a wonder he hasn't scared the chicks in their totes to death!

Congrats on the new babies from hinkjc!

I'm meeting up with muggsmagee for a couple of her delicious looking chickens on Friday!

I would be interested in your chickens your re-homing - If you've already found them a new home that's great! If not I might be interested in them and would be happy to make the trip as long as there are no late (scary) snowstorms. I have two Delaware Giant babies that hatched nicely but will need some more company and that would be great - all the others would make excellent additions to both what I already have and the babies that are in singles, triples and doubles...

Let me know...

I love muggsmagee chickens - even the pet mixes or pet pures are the most amazing - makes me drool to get my hands on those birds!

BTW, I live in Johnstown about exit 27 near Fonda and several miles West of Amsterdam. You probably know right about where that is since you're out Syracuse way!

I wanted to let you know I got a hold of the Seller of those Yokohama Red Shaddles and he assures me he's been doing this for ten years. He's sending me the Vet paperwork for their clearance along with the flock and I guess the additional paperwork he felt I didn't need.

WHEW! I guess that ended up working out well. I'm still keeping a "leery" eye on the situation to see if he comes through.
