Hope your horse will be fine. I have a split lav and porcelain project silkie I'm not sure if I am keeping or breeding...the girl should be laying soon...she's almost 7 months for Pete's sake!

Sue --- So sorry about your animal woes! What an awful couple of days!

Meagan -- Silkies take approximately FOREVER to start laying! LOL! Really, some of mine almost 10 months.
Now I'm gonna be a pain in the butt ---> Is the porcelain actually porcelain? Is your split lav a product of split x split?

You aren't a pain in the butt. The silkie I have is product of Lav to Split Lav from ultraclassic. The other is from Kelar's porcelain pen, but looks visually black with a tiny bit of buff in the hackles. I have a very nice looking buff pair to work with too. The Buff girl is almost 10 months and I have gotten zero eggs from her! You are so right when you say they take forever to start laying!

I did!!! Thanks! Please keep posting pics -- they sell out everytime I hatch them, so I don't get to see them grow up. One looks like it's white! I wonder if I marked one wrong?

Hahahahaha!!! Silkies are working on WORLD DOMINATION!!!!! My SIL told me about her Farmville Silkies... I told her I could bring her some real ones for Easter! Heck -- I'll even color them for the kids!

Two are white ones. They were from the bigger brooder in the garage. The one is the biggest one in the bunch and the other one is medium sized. They both have slate colored legs. They have poofy cheeks too. Are they a different line from the other chicks? One had a blue metal band and one had a black zip band.

Broody hen is still sitting three hatching eggs. I am so proud of her!

Cool -- you should get a few lav or porcelain chicks out of that mating! Ultraclassic & Kelar have gorgeous silkies! I had 1 buff silkie, but he wasn't SQ, so he moved on.

I keep staring at this one chick in my 3 week old brooder. It was white out of my White over B/B experiment... well, either I'm getting daffy or it's growing black feathers. It's not splash. I know splash.

Hmmm...could it be a possible paint? Take a pic...I'd love to see it!

I was trying to make paint, but thought the experiment had failed so I moved the girls back to their own coop.
I'm flabbergasted! And giddy!! I have 2 Hat Trick Paints -- I took one out & Noah took out the little odd white chick. Noah said, "Cool! You made Paint, Mommy!"

I tried to take pics but need to do it in natural lighting... flash isn't showing this like it should. I have splash chicks ---- they soooooo don't look like this!!! I noticed a cluster of black feathers on the top of it's head. Then another little bunch on its back & wing. My splash don't look splash till they're older either. Guess those girls are moving back in with the whites!

Trish -- you'd better look closely at the light silkie babies you got from me!!!

Hah! I don't play Farmville, but one of my friends draws (some of) the animal art for them. I influenced her to paint different duck species...

If you ever get a Hooded Merganser or Long-Tailed duck, you know who to blame....

I love hooded Mergansers and Wood ducks. Not as familiar with the Long - Tailed duck. That is so cool that your freind draws animal art for farmville. I will have to see what some of my virtual ducklings grow up to be.
