Trish, I checked out your waterer. I made one out of a 2 gallon white bucket. Looks great, but NO ONE will drink out of it!! Any suggestions?

Is this a nipple waterer? I use those for all my birds, even babies. You have to give them no other option. If there's a pan of water nearby, they will go there first. Also make sure there's an air vent in the top (I just drill a hole in the lid of my five gallon bucket waterers).

I currently have 3 for free. They are Nat's (Sonew) Chuckie ducklings...the dad is a crested magpie, the moms are a mix of Khaki Campbell/Runner. Really cute/sweet little ducklings. Jump on these! They should be full of personality and excellent layers!

This week I have another hatch due, this next Tuesday, but have some takers on the ducklings and not sure what I'll have left over if they all hatch. (Calls, BBS Cayugas and Silver Appleyards)

Let me know on the Chuckie duckies, otherwise they end up in a box for Bridget tomorrow!

Right Bridget???

Still no eggs.

I didn't give them anything extra to eat except a few BOSS ....about 10 seeds each....and ONE worm. (That's all I could find)
If they don't lay any eggs tomorrow and Friday I won't have enough for my nieces and nephews for easter eggs.

Oh, and some grass I plucked for the one itty bitty hen who seems to be a vegatarian....she doesn't eat worms. (Hmmm....I wonder who she got THAT from?

On another note I layed out my coop perfectly. Windows with hardware cloth and bug screening on the south side. Run on the opposite side of the coop so the coop itself it shade for the entire afternoon. Door on the side closest to the people house. THEN? I put the roost right in front of the pop door so I have to step OVER it to open and close it.

Guess I have some rearranging to do. Doh. Does it ever end?

Remember what I said about stress. Any changes to the coop and they will back off from laying. Just so you should know. They of course will pick up but it will take some time. I put a bunch of new Del pullets in the coop and now they've slowed up a bit and it's been a week.

Give it time.

I hear you. My DD's b-day falls on Easter, I promised her we'd blow out Ameraucana eggs and decorate them. My girls haven't been laying for a whole month!!!! Only a few normal, boring brown eggs, that's it.

I feel your pain. Are we resorting to buying store bought eggs? Ugh.
