NY chicken lover!!!!

That's cool... most people think that! I like my colors to look natural. Sam's is a more intense color because younger gingers have more intensity than aging ones.

The computer system fried that morning from the generator. I've always gotten my money the same day, but they weren't paying anyone out that day. I'll talk to him. It's like $75, so it would be nice to have.

I hope someone has peafowl eggs tomorrow!

He doesn't mail the checks. You have to either stay till the end to get it, or pick up the next time.

70 is fine for ducks. they take a long time to pip and zip can take up to 3 days sometimes. they are alot different than chickens.

i want to go to bath too. trying to make plans to go in fall. i mapquested it its 88 miles one way. eeekkk maybe gas will be cheaper by fall.

My humidity is like 73 to 75...is that too high?...I hatched 2 Rouen and now the 8 Cayugas...Rouen didn't take as long...ok I will be patient..Thanks...I haven't even mapped it...

dont worry unless it goes above 80 but even then they can hatch up to 90. sounds like your doing fine. i hatched on accident one time at 100% my meter was off because of low battery. stupid me still had 14 hatch though lol

what day are you on?

Just day 27! They pipped on the end of 26...still one who hasn't, more r coming out now and that one who was out doing the night and all fluffy and cute! Some are very quite and not moving fast..

thats sounds good!!! i wouldn't worry at all . ducks dont run around like chicks do either they sleep alot first day they have a hard time walking at first because of there big feet and holding head up

ok...Thanks feeling better!...I can see some are bigger then others...kids are going to love them...but they are for sale!...so will the pastel call ducks...I tell them enjoy them while they are here!

I have a couple of questions for the silkie experts around here.

Do silkies have different kinds of combs? It seems that 2 of mine have flat combs and 3 have regular stand up combs. The 2 with the flatter combs are HUGE compared to the regular combed ones.
I have NO IDEA what the woman ordered that I bought these from. Neither did she. So I am sitting here wondering A. How old they really are and B. What the heck are they. I was told they were 3 or 4 weeks old when I got them and that they were pure bred silkies. From a hatchery. So I'm stumped. I just want 2 hens. The other three can go live with the neighbors. Their girls will LOVE them.

On a different note I got 3 eggs today. Now I have so many eggs in the fridge I may have to get a bigger margerine bowl to hold them all. I have three weeks worth of eggs in a margerine bowl. It's hysterical to see all those itty bitty eggs all stacked up in a country crock margerine bowl If they keep up laying like this I may have to get out a tea cup to hold the excess

Hi Everyone: This is a pic of Doris and the Beekman Farm chicks.

This is our Buff Orpingtons out for a run in the grass and flowers.

Tgrlilly: This is a pic taken today of the Ameraucanas. Aren't they getting big? They are letting us handle them a little now.

Hope everyone has fun at the auction tomorrow. We will be home building the coop.

Happy Country Hens
