That'd be great....how far are you from me?

Google says about an hour, so not bad at all.

we could meet halfway. Eggs are two weeks away from hatching - keep your fingers crossed for girlies!

Wow! She'd be so excited! What would you be asking for it??

Someone said Bridgeport was having an auction tomorrow, but didn't know where. He lost his old place. I'd like to know, I have a lot of birds to sell...

I wish I knew too!! Maybe it's posted on craigslist? They said they were gonna send everyone a notice by mail where it was

Cass Silkies are not dumb...they have an attitude. Ours were given to us 1 and 2 year adult.
We have a Pond and we were worried. They quickly new where to go and stayed away from the Pond. Our door is flat to the ground ...no ranp to climb. We had ducks in this Barn earlier and they did not need ramp.

We have an automatic door and they just go in and out. Food and Water in the Barn.

Now these are fine adults. We did NOT train them. Someone smarter that us did. We have new babies from Renee and they are not in the Barn yet. Time will tell how smart they will be.
I do know they are white and adorable ...now growing in our basement and doing fine. Aria

This isn't about chickens but I hope someone here can help! I have two toulouse geese in Nassau County, NY. I can not keep them!! One is male and one is female. They are very sweet. Does anyone want them that lives somewhere near me? I will bring them to you and will drive up state if needed as long as it's within a couple of hours of me. I just want them to have a good home! They were hatched May 2nd 2011.

You an me both. I have chicks for $1 each and no takers. EE's and three friz/del crosses. At this point I'd even part with the three Del chicks if someone would buy the rest.

Plus I have two Dom hens. and an EE roo. I may even give up Uncle George from GA. I hate to give up the two silkies from AL so I'm trying to hang on to them.

Toulous - Sorry about your geese but I don't think the neighbors nor I are up to geese, though I do like them. Maybe Trylin will take them.

No word from her nor Renee?

I'd really like a pair of Geese to put in with my ducklings, but I'm sure I am much too far away (Bloomfield) and they're probably too young to defend the coop...

On another note, my broody Ameraucana hen hatched ONE chick. One. I tossed the rest of the nest in the incubator, no clue if anything is going to hatch because I can't candle blue eggs. I don't have a spot to move her and ONE freaking chick other than the pen with the killer broody duck, anyone want one chick? I'm not setting up a brooder/lamp etc for just one, I'm afraid the other hens will kill it or rats will get it if I leave it out there.

I'm going to fix the back coop (again, sigh) Does anyone know if chicken wire will work to bury or should I get hardwire cloth?

Bah, I think I have to get rid of my main rooster. He's normally an EXCELLENT rooster and hasn't ever shown aggression, but he charged me today several times in a row and I can't have that around here. He's gotten used to treats and when I don't have any he's starting to get angry. He's an excellent flock protector, great with the ladies, was even showing one how to make a nest today. Doesn't even attack all the chicks running around.

Strangely enough, I just remembered he seems to get cranky after I give them cantaloupe. Maybe he HATES melon?

Poor puff daddy! My neighbors will be happy, as he crows all the time.

ETA: Just put on my you-know-what-kicking boots and got ready to carry him around the yard, but this time he sensed I wasn't messing around. I walked him back around for about 10 minutes and he never fought back just acted indignant. Any more messing with me and you'll see his shiny tush on craigslist..

He's acting his normal friendly self now. Maybe he just really really hates cantaloupe?

Yeah, just the white one. The chicks are anywhere from white to peachy cream with a headspot or stripe. If you get a barred one i'll flip! LOL They all seem to have lacing rather than barring.

oh you might lol then this one is jet black with smokey gray belly. it look like a cuckoo maran but with hugh muffs. it doesnt have any head spot. its only 2 days so no wing feathers yet i will let you know
