NY chicken lover!!!!

I hope everyone had a nice and safe day today.

I'm happily in fuzzy pajamas waiting for the ice age xmas special to come on. After getting home from work at 3am then up at 6:30/7am because the little one doesn't sleep in then the days big events I am beat.

I'm trying to drum up the energy to wash and carton the 3 baskets of eggs sitting on the counter. The girls have picked up the slack in the last week.

Hope they are small baskets so you can get some rest.

Edited to add:
Good night everyone. Taking the girls to watch charlie brown in bed and hopefully we'll all fall asleep in the process.

Just got back from first round Black Friday shopping. 2 oldest DSs came along and I was happy to have the help. Dinner was great, with one of the 2 turkeys we raised being the main course and DS #2 volunteered to help with preparations. He did a great job, maybe next year I will just sleep late, play video games and sit down to eat, lol.

Hope everyone had a great day.

I had a Dominique hatch two for two and it was below zero weather. I was surprised and moved her into the office til she got nasty if I got near the chicks. Then I moved her to another spot alone and she was fine. I'm sure you'll have no problem except where to raise the chicks.

I wish you the best,

I'm not far from Chester, Ellenville, Montgomery or Newburgh, just keep me in mind when it comes to the flocks. I'm in between Spring Glen and Mountaindale, six miles from Ellenville an Wurtsboro. I have a big flock but looking to expand it come the spring again. I'm thinking about making an incubator and hatching eggs in march. Any of the locals have a simple but good plan for one?

The girls gave me 23 eggs so far today which puts us close to a 50% lay rate. It was bad getting 10 eggs a day with the number of birds we have.
The birds are loving the sun today. They're out basking now. I wish I could just sit and watch them today, but I have to work.

Three Olive Eggs in 3 days. I'm telling ya, those roosters were harrassing the ladies toooo much. I haven't had an egg a day for over 2 months.

We got enough eggs the past three days to bring a full dozen to my mom for Thanksgiving!

We're doing a happy dance every time we see ONE! What a difference from the summer. lol.

You should have seen the look on some of my family members faces when they saw my green and blue Easter Egger eggs.
