NY chicken lover!!!!

How many here are doing their own birds? What do you do with the innards? I'd hate to attract vermin to the place.

If you have a place to set them well away from the house, first thing in the morning, in a location easily visible from the air... you will make friends with your local crows and they'll clean it up by nightfall! They are good hawk warning systems for my chickens... :)

Well, after saving eggs since Feb 1st (7 days) and having 7 Porcelain D'Uccle pullets, I got 2 eggs!

I did get 9 Mille Fleur D'Uccle eggs in there too though if you are interested in those if they hatch.

Yes, I have Mille Fleur, so I would be interested in those if the Porcelain don't develop.

AND I have a neighbor that might be interested in chicks also. She has had her flock almost devoured by hawks, so needs to replenish their numbers. (She's down from 10 to 7 and one is laying internally so it's not going to make it)

Great! You get first dibs. Sorry about your neighbor. March 1st they should be hatching.

Dum da da daaaaaaaa.....

Today, February 11, we got 17 eggs!

Candled my eggs last night and removed 7 eggs that were not developing. All were LH Americana crosses. One olive egg seems not to be developing but they are hard to see though. The other 21 seem to be going strong!

Tab, how is the new job going?
