I am sooooo jealous. I don't even have a TINY incubator. I count on my hens do go broody. How's that working for me? Not so good.

My incubator will be empty next week. I'd be happy to do a hatch for you! It fits about 24 eggs. I managed to put 29 eggs in it!

cass, That is why I am hatching in Feb. Just hoping that they come into lay mid summer...I know, I know, I AM delusional!!

You can hope.....but September is more realistic....Just long enough that you miss the eggs when they stop laying for the winter.

yes they are all my eggs except the ones with marker on them. those i am test hatching for another byc member

the bantam eggs are japs and the maran eggs and ee eggs are crossed with a lav am roo or a splash maran cockrel. so cant wait to see how they turn out.

so i have an egg i have been getting from one of my girls maybe a wellsummer? it is light brown with some dots throughout. dont know who is laying it.
my laying flock of hens are: BR, RIR, Black Star, BLRW, Maran x wellsummer, wellsummer, BCM, silver spangled hamburg, BLRW, barnavelder, then i have the 2 roos in there.


ugg right now my roos are having a crowing contest i can hear them... go to sleep already. LOL.

My silver spangled hamburg lays white eggs. I don't think she is the one laying the brown eggs. Do you ever sell your chocolate Marans' eggs?

yeah my SShamburg lays a white egg she's my only white egg layer and she lays so few eggs in a year.... she i guess is spoiled cause she gets to stay cause shes pretty.

I have one BCM with feathered legs and a BCM/Wellsummer cross, and the roos i have in there are a lav am and a splash maran with lightly featherd feet. so the results would either be OEs or straight marans but not show quailty marans. if you are interested in some eggs - pm me

I don't dare buy even a little incubator, as I'd fall victim to the hatching bug. So, as of right now, I'm Just Saying No.

I will say that I am half-considering Indian Runner Ducks, as they're so cute - I like the animated bowling pin look. DH just looks at me like, "really?"

Okay...this isnt fair. If I had an incubator like that every square inch of my acre of land would be covered in chickens and so would all the neighbors lands! I would be profiled on hoarders and the byc would be by my house to pick them all up! lol You guys are making it hard for me to wait till the end of next month to order hatching eggs. I have to keep telling myself if you build it they will come.

Who knew that a lawn/leaf bag full of pine needles would be the perfect chicken toy for the day? I dumped in a bag in their run last night while they were out freeranging and they are digging through it today like there was gold to be had. I like cheap toys!
