I have Buff Orps; EEs, RIRs, BA, and BRs with a NHRed roo; and Lt Brahmas with a Cochin roo and a Cochin x Lt Brahma roo. We are now up to about 16-18 eggs a day.

I am also at a point where I can take roos, as long as they are fully feathered. If you still have any from the NYD hatch, they would fit nicely with mine. If you are thinking about the roos from the Easter hatch, I am planning to hatch only quail then, so should have plenty of roo space.

Where in the Catskills? I have a fancy laced polish, a white turken and possibly a Red Blue laced Wyandotte rooster. They are pure breeds. They are 3 months old I have to get them a good home or my husband is going tokill them once they start crowing. He is worried the town will be knocking on the door the dat after they do. Thanks Carol

Was just catching up on all the new posts and giggling about everyone running around in their pjs. I started to do that when house training my dog about five years ago, but back then I felt a bit guilty about it. If I didn't wear my glasses I could convince myself that I was invisible...but now, the coop is in back of the house and I don't even consider putting on real clothes before doing my chores. SO GLAD I live in the country!

I am overun with Light Sussex split to Coronation chicks...I'm letting them go for $5 each, they are from 4 weeks up to 2 months.

They will produce light Sussex as well as Coronation Sussex. They are very good layers.

Hen--if we were in the same pharmacy the customers wouldnt know what to do! lol Either they would love us and be in all the time or they would be running for any other pharmacy but ours! hehe "Never mess with the person who dispenses your happy pills."

Argh--everyone is hatching! This is killing me. DH managed to drop the giant oak tree by himself today while our dd videotaped it. The house, chicken coop and the footings for the new coop are all safe. He made it in one piece as well. Now for all the cutting and splitting. Came home from work to work outside picking up all the little branches and getting them out of the way. Let everyone out to freerange. I thought their crops were going to explode they were so full!

Not only do we have to build the big coop but I also have to build a little one for another breeding quad of silkies. Dh is not happy about that as that will be 2 big coops and 2 small coops on our property. I say the more the merrier! Found a hatchery in PA that sells chicks at a decent price and the shipping is good as well. Now I just need to locate a breeder for some silkie eggs.

Good luck with your hatches and your building projects everyone.
