No only does he/she have no eyes, but a cross beak, and I am thinking that there might be other non obvious issues.

I think I will do this everytime I get a broody hen now I think its by far the easiest hatch. They do all the work of turning and keeping the temp perfect.

I will leave these in bator until our turkeys hatch.... I have 8 hoping they hatch today or tmro ( I miscalculated the days)

This is our 5th hatch and the best yet!

My Marans have started to molt!

I wondered why they stopped laying 2 weeks ago, and today I see feathers all over...they did this to me last year as well. I think it was those 2 warm weeks and then the cold....
There is no other reason why, lights still on in coop, 21 % feed so protein is sufficient...& I have a long waiting list for chicks....&*#"8&*%"(

On the bright side, my Wyandottes, both blrw & Silver laced are laying like gangbusters! Silkies have just started laying, yippee!

Come to think of it, my Coronations have slacked off this past week as well.

Anyone else notice a change in laying?

Yep, I had like no eggs, then a gazillion eggs and now hardly any eggs again!

I ended up having to stick the Silkie eggs in the incubator bc a fox pried up the run and killed two of them in the pen (The best hen and the Rooster, of course) So I had to move the broody Silkie. I kept telling him the coop was unsafe when he kept complaing that I was not using it, sigh. My husband is working on our taxes, I so hope we get money back this year, I'd really like to buy some of that electric poultry netting to put around the back coop until I can get an electric fence and a LGD...

Anyone know if the PO will deliver chicks to your door if you can't go pick them up? My choc Orps shipped and my car's timing belt went, so its in the shop and I am stuck here with no car! :( The stupid tracking is not updating either, so if I knew what day they were going to be here I could drive my husband to work...
