See the "swap meet" post I just listed, and there is a show in Syracuse the 1st Sunday in June, at the Syracuse Fairgrounds. There are sales coops at the show.

Does anyone know of any upcoming poultry shows in the Albany or Syracuse area that I may be able to venture to and purchase some birds? Or is there a list online I can view?

No, I'm not going to the Ct show, I didn't know about it....I need to get updated on shows around NY..

I don't have any right now. I had a problem in my Orp pen, and I'm down to just 2 hens. So not getting as many eggs as I used to, but I'm hatching all I get. Will you be coming up to our show inn Syracuse the 1st Sunday in June? I'll have some Lave orps then.

Ginny--my sister has been waitressing and watching my girls for the past couple years while trying to find a solid job with benefits. This new job is good for her so she wouldn't stay watching he girls even if I paid her. I have a different family member watch them everyday working around everyone's work schedules. My sister watched them 2 days a week. She lived with me rent free and she watched the girls a couple days, a good deal. My baby sister has grown up--living with her boyfriend now and has a steady job.

Well that is good for her. It was bound to happen sometime. They all grow up. good luck finding good day care!

Thanks! I'll see what's going on for June 1st. That would be perfect if I could make it to that one. By then my coop will be up so I could bring home whatever if I found something I was interested in. I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed with the silkie chicks I just bought. So they will really be just pets. I'm hoping I can get my hands on at least one nice looking one. I am also going to be adding one or two Copper Morans in July so with those, the BO I have, and the silkies I'm hoping I'm off to a good start.

There will be lots of birds for sale, I always bring Marans, probably some Coronation Sussex, Whtie Orpingtons & Blue laced red Wyandottes, possible some Silver Laced Wyandottes....not sure if I'll have any Silkie chicks for sale b y then.
