i HAVE A EE HEN THAT WOULD GO VERY NICE WITH HIM!!
I have an EE rooster that is really handsome! Java, If you are interested I will try and post a picture of him, and if you are still interested, we could meet and you could have him. Otherwise, he is stew. My husband loves him, but I will only keep buckeye roosters for breeding and can not keep all beautiful roosters. He is black and tan though, but is is one of the prettiest birds I have.

OK. I have found a roundworm in my prolapsed vent, chicken in the basement. Most likely, all need to be wormed. Most chemical wormers for roundworm call for multiple treatments and egg dumping.AAUUGGHH!! When production is up!!! Also there are herbal wormers that may or may not be effective, but no egg dumping.

Any comments...especially looking for comments from the "Amys" as you both deal with pharmacuticals and are better educated in the drug interactions or reactions.

All comments and thoughts are welcome.

thanks, Ginny

You could try Eprinex. It's a "spot on" wormer that takes care of pretty much everything and there's no egg withdrawal.

Morning everyone! I have two sax/rouen cross ducks that are about 3 months old living outside with the chickens. But my husband has said they have to go due to mess in the coop that is not flying with him.

So I am looking for good homes for them not sure of gender. So if anyone is intrested please let me know thanks!

I was goign to say they were not effective for roundworms, but your comment made me rethink and research and it is effective for round worms. Off to TSC I go!! Next step is figuring how to keep the chickens from eating worms.

Thanks.

Ginny--if you remember correctly, I sold you some eprinex in january for your birds. I did the research and it pretty much takes care of everything inside and out and there is no egg withdrawel period. I still have some left and will be doing my own birds soon. Check your mail history on here and you will find the dosages I gave you for both bantams and large fowl. I will probably only do my layers and breeding silkies as all the others are still juveniles yet. Its about that time. Let me know how you make out.

So in anticipation of having my gallbladder out, I industriously did a full cleanout and reset of the silkie coops this morning. Washed, scrubbed, de, litter, washed bowls and waterers and swept walls. I let them freerange all morning long before locking them back in their coop/run. I then washed waterers and feeders and filled them, swept walls, de everything and freshened up the big coops with some fresh litter. I let the girls out to range all afternoon. Trouble will undoubtedly go looking for Little Man and his hens to pick a fight but they are safely locked away. Needless to say, my side and back are now killing me (mad gallbladder) but I feel better knowing that all anyone has to do is feed and water the cheeps for me.

It was very pleasant in the shade this morning and I even took time out to bring the lone silkie chick out to sit with me for a bit. Of course the terrorists were looking at it like it was a snack and were hoping I would give it to them. The baby was happy running around on me and managed to get a nap in. I am now going to sit and enjoy my fan and a little reading.
