NY chicken lover!!!!

Anyone going to the auction tomorrow? (At the fingerlakes auction place just past Canandaigua...) Starts at nine I think?

I'm going to get rid of some extra Roosters and thin out my Quail pen, darn things are getting aggresive for some reason, they killed one hen last night. :( I tried to put a young hen in with my white pair and the Roo darn near killed the poor thing.

Bringing a couple bunnies too.

Prices will probably be bad, But I can't see feeding all this extra stuff I know I don't want until the Bath auction!

I think I'll be there! It's our anniversary, but I think I've convinced dh it'll be a good learning experience! LOL
I'll let you know if I do go. It's not too far from me.

Expensive? I want to hatch out Black Australorps next spring and sell day old chicks.
Yes, it's expensive, especially with the humidity pump and turner. I bought mine used, but was still pricey (around $300 used with shipping). Plus with some creative positioning, it will only hold about 30 eggs - but it's enough for me and it's idiot proof which I like. :)

Cracrzy4chicks--first time I have seen my hometown mentioned! I grew up in Boonville.

Ginny---going to try that with Mr. Big. I will let you know how he tastes tomorrow!

I had not so good results with and LG. Saving up dollars for a gen 1588. Hoping that I will have better hatches with that one. I am watching for the meat prices to fall as farmers sell off what they cant feed. I have made room in my freezer. Also have room for anyone else in the flock who steps out of line! Got torrents of rain today and they are calling for more tomorrow. Wish I could send it to all those who really need some. Maybe we could build a pipeline or something and let it run down to the drought areas.

Time to go lock up the cheeps and put the 2 voted out of survivor into the dog pen. Later
