Yes, it's expensive, especially with the humidity pump and turner. I bought mine used, but was still pricey (around $300 used with shipping). Plus with some creative positioning, it will only hold about 30 eggs - but it's enough for me and it's idiot proof which I like. :)

I looked it up... too rich for my blood! lol Maybe someday...

Did a complete search of the chicken run weed patch, didn't find any other stashes. But I did find 2 new eggs in the litter box! I think I'll just forget about the 63 and say.... I got my first eggs!!!

I filled the horse bucket with the 60 eggs with water and swished them around, no floaters. Guess chickies are going to have a 60 egg omlet for breakfast tomorrow. Well, maybe 30 tomorrow and 30 for Sunday. Better find more that 2 tomorrow.

Tab--you are the baby! I graduated in 82. I wont hold it against you though!

Stony--guess that makes me your "senior"! lol

Lapeerian--I hope you have a pan big enough for all those eggs!!!

I have a friend who loaned me her Hova 1602n and I didn't do so good.

Then I ordered eggs from Speckledhen and I didn't want to mess up again so I bought the 1588 at her recommendation and I've done ok so far.

I know lots of folks use the LG's with good success. Just not me.

My Gen cost $182. 00 or thereabouts. They might be more since they are updated. That's including the turner, but you might find a turner cheaper on line.

I feed my crew Flock Raiser with oyster shell free choice on the side. It does leave powder in the bottom of the bowl, but I've discovered that wetting down the powder and making what amounts to chicken porridge apparently makes it All New Food, as they go bananas for it. I figure, hey, whatever floats their boat.
